Ummm… make clear with your family that the names on the invite are the seats that will be reserved…

Yes if you have to put your foot down and stick to the names on your list. anyone who isnt on the list is not invited.

Can you call and figure out if anyone unexpected is planning on coming?

Or at least it might give you an idea if you need to have an extra couple or extra 20 plates ready.

Is this my FSIL?? She’s going through this with her mother and my mum. My culture is like this. I put down my foot and my mum came to my side of things. She did give me a guestlist and she’s sticking to it. Put your foot down.

I would definitely have him or your mom take care of it.

I know it seems “mean” but really if you don’t put your foot down about things like this people think they can just do or bring who ever they want.

My Father-In-Law actually said “it’s not like they have to eat” when we told him that we couldn’t accomodate my Darling Husband 20 Aunts and Uncles and their numerous children on JUST his dad’s side!

Some people.. lol ^ this is why my mom stands firm that everyone should elope! lol

Put your foot down.  The invitation will indicate who is allowed to come and if a guest is allowed.  I went to a wedding where a person indicated 10 ppl.  Yes, 10.  Now the bride was too nice to say “Hell 2 the No” but what was this person thinking.   This is a young couple who paid for the wedding theirselves.  Another example of classless people is when my MOH’s Brother-In-Law invited his friends to the seat down dinner reception.  Never mind that she had to pay for 5 additional people @ $45/pop in Vegas.  But their gift was priceless: A dorm microwave that had the $20 only Sticker still prominently displayed.  Moral to the story:

Nip this before people even get to the reception because you will be forced to pay for a ton of people which will definitely overshoot your budget.

Good Luck!!!!
