I’m not sure what you mean by table directory?  We had out 100 escort cards on a board with their names and table number, and then they just went to their table.  There was no “map” of the ballroom.

@rdevaney:  You can indicate the table number on the escort cards- that’s what they are for.

An alternative is to use a seating chart.

If you use table numbers and the numbers are used in a logical manner around the room, you don’t need a directory or layout of the room.

If you use table names or pics, it is sometimes helpful to add the layout to the seating chart.

I’ve seen a seating chart in a picture frame on the Bee before, I thought it was a neat idea that I want to do for my wedding.  Here is a picture someone on the Bee did for their wedding.

We just put the table number right on the card with their name.
