I have found seating charts easier than looking through escort cards. Just personal opinion

KatJoy227:  I prefer escort cards both as a guest and as a hostess.

Seating charts have to be done at the least minute, or else you can’t acccomodate late additions or subtractions to the guestlist. Escort cards can be done ahead of time.

You still have to do a seating plan with escort cards, but it is not something that needs to be on display, so you can do it with Excel or ith post-it notes on your wall.

I’m not sure if it’s a southern thing or what, but I have never been to a wedding with assigned seating.  I didn’t know people had assigned seats at weddings until I started to watch wedding shows on tv!  LOL This could be because “sit down” meals are very rare in the south; we always have buffets (no wonder we are the fattest states).
