Ok Hive….We don’t want to rent another set of seats for the ceremony so we are trying to figure out what to do. I have heard of using the same seats and asking the men to carry them to the tables at the end. I have also heard of just having guests stand if it is a short ceremony, which we plan on having. Then we had an idea of hay bales. It is an outdoor wedding on a small budget. Opinions please =)

Are you having a coctail hour? If so while you are off doing pics during the coctail hour maybe a few men can move them.
I def would have seating during the wedding…. I wouldn’t made my guest stand even if it is short I’m sure people would enjoy being able to sit.
Depending on your theme I think the hay bales could be a cute idea as well!

You definitely need to have seating during the ceremony. Even if it’s short, people will show up 15+ minutes early.
I would ask a few close friends or family members if they wouldn’t mind moving some chairs and then get them a little something extra for their help (case of beer, bottle of wine). I wouldn’t ask all the guests to move their chairs.
Hay bales would also work just fine!

We have the same issue. We are hoping for 75 guests, but the venue has only 150 chairs. So IF we end up with 80, 85, 90 people then they will have to be set out for the ceremony and a few carried over to the reception area. It’s not far, chairs aren’t heavy, not the end of the world.
