Okay, I have ADHD so I hope this makes sense but here goes.
I am from a tiny town with no venues to speak of, except for a church reception hall or this one ranch. I lucked out because a family friend owns the ranch and it is SUPER cute, and I am getting it for no charge!
Well, I finally went to look at it (haven’t been out there in 5+years) and it is still ery adorable with little wood fences, a lodge, a covered pavillian, some buildings with thatch roofs – very perfect for my Shabby Chic theme. HOWEVER (isn’t there always a but?) There really isn’t a lot of room. I’ve made this little picture (fun with paint!):
ugh, hope you can read all of that.
Okay, I need to seat 100 people at this place, and I have 8ft long tables (rectangle). I can sit 10 people if I put people on the caps, or if I put tables end to end I can get:
20 per 2 tables end to end.
30 per 3 tables… I guess thats the same, but it does save some space.
I could squeeze the tables under the pavillion, but they would be tight and I’m scared it is going to look like I was trying to shove a bunch of tables under there so no one has to sit under the trees. An alternative is to maybe put a few tables under the pavillion along with the head table and then set some out under the trees on the sides/behind?
Do you think people will be like ‘this stupid bride made me sit out here, I’m not even close to the bride!
But if I do that then I will have room for some dancing under the pavillion (we aren’t having much dancing, just the first dance since FI’s family is hardshell Baptist and doesn’t really care for dancing).
Another alternative is to have everyone on the grassy area (you can’t really see the pond because there are trees in the way, but it is there… an its color treated/etc.) and maybe just have the eating over there on the grass and just set up my cookie bar, a beverage station, and the music under the pavillion?
Side note, this is all in FL during the Day. So, ADHD be damned, here are some pictures of what I mean:
Option one, everyone under the pavillion:
option 2, under and around:
option 3: in grassy area. It’s larger than the picture, I’m a terrible artist.
All together now: Aimee, you have lost it. This proves that with 5 weeks to go, you have literally lost your mind and confused everyone on Wedding bee!
Oh, and the food is all going to be inside the lodge for serving (cake and other food, buffet style barbeque/smoked foods) for fear of bugs.
