Hmm that’s tricky.. I’d probably just stick to first & last names for everyone, or first/last names for all of FI’s family and doing mother of bride/father of bride for my family.

@june2013bride:  My FH has a simialr situation – I find the best advice is to find out how he wants them identified. Maybe he prefers it’s simply “Mother of the grom” because his birth mom is okay with and raised by both, maybe he’s strict on “Step-mother of the groom” – best idea, ask him. Find out what he feel and left his comfort dictate.

@june2013bride:

I would abide by his wishes. As I said, I’m in a similar situation – I felt bad but FH insisted it was ” Mom” “Dad” “Dad” and “Step-mother”.  Here’s a hint, him and the “step-mother” aren’t close nd that’s how he’s always referred to her.

Plus – if they aren’t sitting at the same table, they shouldn’t notice.

I’m in the middle of doing my seating plan too  – if you are having difficulties, my suggestion is sit down and do with with FH – he might know family relations better than anyone.

No one is going to see their cards but themselves really? Leave off the titles, it’s unnecessary.
