After reading many posts on what other brides have gotten their bridesmaids, I began to feel less confident in the gifts I had gotten my girls. I tried to get them all something the same because I didn’t want the bridemaids to feel as if I got one more than the other. We are on an EXTREMELY tight budget, since like most, we are paying for the wedding ourselves. I also didn’t want to get them something they wouldn’t use or like. This is very challenging! So I found an initialed Notebook and a large mug at Kirkland’s of all places for $10 each. So I ended us spending a total of $20 per girl for 4 girls. Then had a coupon for $10 off…so yay! Here is a pic.
My sister, who is also my Matron of Honor, is going to wrap them nicely and I am making a flower for each girl to wear at the wedding along with a personalized Thank-you note.
Is anyone doing anything similar? Is this enough for a bridesmaid gift?

I think they are nice and you shouldn’t second guess yourself. Everyone’s money situation is different, and to be honest, I’ve felt the same way looking at other posts. I’ve been a bridesmaid in two weddings, and the gifts are just an extra special thank you–I’ve never expected gifts for either one.

I think that those gifts are great! Why are you second guessing?
Not everybody can afford to get all their bridesmaids Tiffany bracelets! (I don’t even like Tiffany, so when I see people who plan to do stuff like that, I think it’s very wasteful!)
My plan is to do a personalized tote bag (I’m screen printing them myself) and then I’m going to fill it with “Bridesmaids essentials” like bobby pins, travel deodorant/toothbrush/razors/bandaids/etc., snacks (so they won’t be hungry in between meals) and anything else I can think of.
I’ve also considered getting them each a necklace or a hair accessory for the wedding, but I haven’t decided yet.
Alternately, for the wedding that I’m in, the bride is paying for part of our dress as our gift.
I think the thought is more important than the gift itself!

I can’t seem to edit the post, but the flowers are a major work in progress. This was my first attempt at making the flower and I plan on adding more petals and tulle to give it a more fuller look. It is definitely a work in progress!!

Thank you ladies! This helps alot.
@tinylittlebird: That is a great idea using “essential” items! I love it! I may borrow it too! THanks!

@ecofriendlybride: Thank you! Feel free to steal away!
Some other ideas I thought of to include were mouthwash, safety pins, a mini sewing kit, a Tide pen, q-tips/makeup applicators, flip flops for the reception (if you are having them wear heels), some one shot bottles of alcohol (if your BMs have a good sense of humor!)…. I’m sure I’ll come up with some other stuff the closer I get to the wedding!

Don’t second guess yourself! I think your gifts are pretty great and I know your BMs will appreciate anything you give them. I really do like that notebook though!
