I’m having major dress regrets right now. I’m only 12 days out from the wedding and I’m feeling like my Fiance will hate my dress, which is making me unsure of my decision. Please note that I’m not on here trying to fish for any compliments, I would like some honest opinions as my family ofcourse is going to tell me nice things.
I purchased the dress online when I was a size 22-24, I decided on a poofy dress to try and hide my weight, so I purchased it in a size 16 to try and give me motivation to lose. I’ve lost 69lbs so I had it recently taken in and turned into a lace back. I’m feeling like I bought the dress for my ‘old’ body type, and I don’t know what to do now.
Is it too late to get a new dress? Is it WORTH it to get a new dress? Anyone with experience changing their choice last minute :(?
.. Please don’t be harsh on the rolls on my arm pits or back haha it was my last fitting and she wanted to try it up as tight as it would go while we were doing last minute adjustments on the bottom.. I just had asked her at that point to take a picture to show my mom so it doesn’t look like that on!

you look fantastic! i think it’s normal to second guess your decision and 12 days out from the wedding would probably make a hunt for a new dress feel like a NIGHTMARE. you could browse your local shops and see if anything catches your eye. i can see how you might want to show off such a drastic change in your figure. that being said i’m about your current size and this is is the silhouette I’m definitely looking at! you look like you are now a sample size so it’s possible you could find something, but I don’t think there’s any reason to feel like you MUST. you look incredible in this dress!

Its normal to second guess yourself…..I did it a million times and in the end I am glad I stuck with my dress. Have you tried it on with all your accessories…..that can play a big part in everything! I think you look beautiful in it!

@KKG: Congratulations on the weight loss; that is a great accomplishment.
I think the dress is pretty and will look even better once you get proper undergarments to smooth everything out. You’ll see what a difference such a seemingly small thing can make. Your Fiance won’t know what hit him!

i think its pretty, very classic and bridal. i second @MlleFabuleux: on the undergarments. a longline bra will solve lots of issues! it looks great on you, congrats on the weight loss!

@rawrrrrr: Thank you! I didn’t even think of that. I think I might be feeling this way because at my old weight I didn’t bother even going dress shopping in a store, I live in a small town and I heard plus size shopping wasn’t great so I just ordered online. Do you know what sample sizes usually are? I think I should take a look just to ease my mind, great idea!
@stardustintheeyes: Thank you very much for your kind words!
@weddingbound: I haven’t actually! I tried a potential set on but not with my new set. That is a fantastic idea, I’ll try that tonight. I also have a hair trial this Saturday so I was thinking maybe if I see myself in the complete look, I’ll be happy again. But thank you, I will try it on again tonight!
@hikerchick: Thank you, thats actually what was making me second guess it. I posted a pic of it (the model in the dress) and everyone on the bee started telling me pick ups were old style etc but I actually really like them. It makes it look less like a prom dress to me!

@MlleFabuleux: Thank you! I actually have no idea what to wear under it? I went to a store here and they told me just a corset and didn’t really know. Do you recommend anything?
@TwoStatesBride: Thank you guys for the advice on the undergarments, I had no idea if I was supposed to wear anything so thats great you let me know. Did you purchase yours from a bridal shop or lingire shop?
@BeachBride2014: Thank you, thats really nice of you to say!

@KKG: I think it is lovely! I agree with PP that the appropriate support garments will make a big impact and give you a really refined, polished look under your clothes. I would definitely start with a great fitting longline bra to provide extra support for the girls and hold you in to show off that new waistline. I’ve lost about 60lbs myself, and it is crazy how different your body shape becomes. Congrats on your loss!
