I bought my dress about 2 weeks ago after visiting 3 salons and trying on about 12 dresses. I was really happy with the dress when I bought it, but I also think I was happy to have landed on something after a long day of shopping (we bought right as the salon was closing). I’ve been feeling worried on and off ever since about whether this is the right dress. I had an image in my head of something much simpler, probably v-neck, and more “classic,” so as much as I loved this on, I’m worried it’s not “me.” It’s also totally not something I would have picked out from the picture/on the rack; I think it looks much better on me in person. I’ve been asking friends for their reactions and it’s been mixed — my Mom loves it, for example, but another friend worried it isn’t quite right for our mid-September wedding in a seaside town, maybe a little too heavy or much for the event. It’s still early, so I think I can probably go back to the salon and start over, but I’m just not sure if this is nerves or I should really start again. Help!

Why not go try it on again? I didn’t know about my dress, but once I tried it on again, I loved it, loved wearing it the day of, and my husband loved it. Give it a second chance because it may turn out your reaction to buy it was right.

I felt the same way about mine but once I tried it on I feel in love with it all over again

To be honest with you, I’m not in love with it.
If you’re having doubts and the salon will let you (give ’em a call), maybe go back and try it on again. Then try on some other styles that are more in line with your original vision. And go from there.

I just had the same experience happen to me days ago!! I went back to the store, talked it out with the owner. She was so kind with me…so was the staff. They were extremely patient with me in finding the dress I TRULY felt like a bride in. If you’re second guessing NOW and you have time and are able to cancel the order (you may want to make sure of that) then I suggest start over! Try a few more on, then go back to that one. If you still go back to the one, then stick with it!!

you’ve received some good advice here – I also think you should go try it on again. And go when you’re not tired and droopy from a long day. Fresh eyes will clear your head. It has lovely details and photographs beautifully. 🙂

@sfchick:Exactly!! When I picked my first dress, it was also the end of the day, the store was closing, and I made a very rash decision. This way, when you go back, you’ll know once you put it on again whether or not you were settling! 🙂
