HI everyone –
I’m writing for a couple reasons. first, to vent but also to get some advice. I’ve been losing sleep over this… 🙁
I got a dress in September (two weeks after I got engaged) and was NOT expecting to! I loved it at the time, though it also didn’t “hit” me that THIS was “THE ONE!”
It was actually the first dress I tried on, so I think that had a bit to do with it but I definitely tried on a bunch more. I even slept on it, and went back to the store to try on more the next day and then to try that one on again.
Everyone was swooning, I met the designer (bc it was a trunk sale) – the experience was AMAZING! I just think all the pressure contributed to my decision. Those bridal salon ladies can be very convincing…
Granted, it’s a BEAUTIFUL dress – I’m just having second thoughts. It’s not a traditional dress, though I guess I’m a bit funky myself. But, also, I wanted to go shopping with friends, go out a few times, and most of all go shopping with my MOM… She was devastated when I told her I found “the dress” and I think that has tainted my excitement about this as well. Devastated is an understatement, actually.
Anyway, I went back to the salon today to see if I could try it on and remind myself why I got it but they didn’t have the sample in 🙁 I’m going to have to wait until February when my dress gets here…
I guess my question is: a) am I crazy? Do you think I should look for a new dress since I keep having second thoughts about this one?
and b) if February comes along and I don’t like the dress “enough” or I’m still not sure, is 6 months enough time to get a new one?
Our wedding is in August…
Thanks for listening and your responses in advance, guys. It felt good to just get that out there!!
