Help me pick my dress!!! My wedding is in August and I need to order my dress so I went into the store and ordered this dress #1. But I still find myself torn. I really don’t want to be a two dress bride. I went in thinking to spend under $1k. But the first dress is over that. The second is under it and I loved it too.
So tell me the truth…
Did I make the right choice? Tell me the truth. I have a tendency to second guess myself and need some second opinions. But it’s extremely hard because I’m trying to keep the dress a surprise!
And in case it helps, the ceremony is in the morning in an outdoor stone courtyard followed by a lunch reception. No dancing.
Dress #1: Pronovias Gaudi … Except there is an asymetrical strap that I tucked into the dress. The actual dress will have the strap. Unless I alter it to be a sweetheart.
Dress #2: Jasmine Dress. The extra strap can be worn with or without and is removable.

First dress looks absolutely stunning on you.. fits like a glove already, I like it without the strap and from what I can tell the necklline looks great as is! WOW! beautiful!

In my opinion, you definitely made the right choice; you don’t have anything to worry about. You look much better in the first dress, and I am sure you will be a beautiful bride.

I think you made the right choice! I like dress #1 because of the bottom and the ruffles. I’d love to see a picture of the assymetrical strap too.

Yes, gorgeous! No regrets, it looks amazing 🙂

@runsyellowlites: Thank you! It actually only fits so well because I have a TON of clips on my back. It was a sample size 10 and I need a 2 so there is a lot of dress behind there. Hopefully the one I ordered will fit the same.
@noritake22: Thank you! I’m just so worried about it being over the top for the casual reception and that maybe something a little less *oomph* like the second dress would be more appropriate. But then I also know dress remorse is normal. eek!
@dianeanthony: Thank you! The bottom ruffles was what sold it to me. I couldn’t resist it after seeing so many bees wearing ruffly pronovias gowns. I actually don’t have a picture of the strap on because I intended on buying the store sample thinking it wouldn’t be ready in time for my wedding. That was a size 10 and the strap was broken so I was going to alter it to a sweetheart. The dress i purchased will be new and in my size so I wont have any pictures until the end of june! But I will definitely post pictures when I do.

I wouldn’t worry about it being “over the top” at all… I think for the morning “courtyard” it’s very fitting… and if it’s not you look AMAZING anyways!
Any other things within theme that might help tie your awesome dress in with decor?

@runsyellowlites: No idea but I am very very up for suggestions if you have any? Our colors are orange and red accents. The bouquet is looking to be filled with tulips, gerberas and roses (Seeing florist tomorrow so if you know of any flowers in the colors i mentioned that could work always up for suggestions). The reception will have mostly long tables in a small cozy room with a fireplace. Centerpieces yet to be determined. We are in the very early stages luckily so I can move and alter what I can in the theme to go with the wedding.
I’d appreciate and love suggestions! How can i make this dress fit?
So far for the ceremony we are thinking of black iron chairs and putting orange/yellow rose petals down the aisle with more saturation along the side edges.

@Aug2011Bride: I wouldn’t worry about being over the top; you are the bride; it is expected 🙂

The first dress looks AMAZING on you!!! Honestly, I wouldn’t have said it was you in both pictures if you hadn’t said so because the first one is so slimming.

Right choice, first dress looks beautiful on you, so have no worries!

I voted for Jasmine before reading the comments– I LOVE the top of the first dress but am totally not a ruffle-person, so I voted Jasmine. Then I scroll down and read that you said you specifically loved the ruffles, so take off one of the Jasmine votes!

You so made the right choice! It looks perfect on you and I think it would go great with the plans you already described.

I dont think you could’ve gone wrong with either one of the dresses, but you look lovely in the Pronovias.
The dress is a LITTLE more formal than the second, however if you keep your accessories to a minimum and not over the top blingy, it’ll be perfect!!! No worries.

I would alter it to be a sweetheart shaped
