When I saw this dress online, I knew it was the one!! It’s called Rosa by Maggie Sottero.
I went to San Fernando, because that’s where designer dresses are made for real cheap. I haven’t been to a regular brial salon but I got this dress for $800!!! Which I thought was a steal considering all the other dresses that were made by her were in the $1000s.
However, there is a catch, they dont have the samples for you to try on. You pick the dream dress you want out of their catalogue and then make your order. I can’t shake this feeling that I might have chosen the wrong dress (*gasp* you didn’t hear that from me!!). I think it could be because I didn’t get the experience of trying dress after dress to find THE DRESS. I don’ know.
I have thought for a while of maybe going to a bridal salon just to get that experience. I suggested it to my mom and she said not to go. Because there might be a dress that I might like more and it’s a little late for me to change my mind. She told me that she made her dress and then her father took her to get the experience and guess what she found a dress that she did like more, of course her dad paid for the dress. And it makes me want to try and get the experience to make sure I made the right choice, but then at the same time I’m too chicken to risk the chance of possibly finding another dress and regretting the already ordered one.
What do you think?
**sorry al this was brought on by that stupid yet copelling show called Say Yes to the Dress***

I would be a little reluctant to purchase a dress I have never tried on in my life. Why don’t you go and at least try on a sample of what you ordered?

You really have to be careful with this one – what about setting an appointment to just try on this gown so you can see how it looks/feel
If your dress is already in production, and you’ve already paid – I personally wouldn’t try on any other gown.

I wouldn’t order a dress I didn’t try on first, just because I thought I saw the perfect dress online, and in turned out it was very boring on me. The styles that suit me the most were the ones that I would never have thought. Go try on dresses, it’s very important.

I can’t even vote in this one. Of course you “shouldn’t” go. But it’s so much fun. Maybe you could just try on dresses really far out of your price range. That would work for me because I would know for sure I couldn’t even consider buying it. But – you don’t want it to make you feel differently about your dress…Dilemma…

What i can say is if you want that experience go and find a bridal store that has that dress and try that dress on only. You will always come accross other dresses but you have to remember to stop looking and just be happy with that dress. Your always going to find something better but if you stop looking then you dont have to worry about it.

well I will say that I fell in love with a dress in a catalog almost right away. I mooned over this thing for months!! I finally found one a shop that was in driving distance. When I saw….I was sooo disappointed in the quality. It looked so cheap! When i tried it on, I was so disappointed. I can’t believe i mooned over this dress for months and months, wondering every time I went in a store if I would find it, if I bought something else never if that dress was “the one”. I am SOOOO glad i went in and looked at it and tried it on in person. Made committing to another dress so much easier.

If I were you I would first call a couple of bridal salons and find out if it’s actually too late to order a new dress, or if they think it could work if you paid extra for a rush order. If it’s too late, then I would say don’t even bother going. I made the mistake of trying on more dresses after I ordered mine, and of course I found another dress that I liked better.
Or, like a pp suggested, see if you can try on a sample of the dress you already ordered. Have you seen it in person?

Thanks ladies!!! I’m still unsure what to do but I’llmull over the suggestions you gave!!! I have seen the dress in person at another store but it was not in the right size and color that I wanted. The place I ordered from is a pretty reliable place. We went to the same place for my best friend’s wedding. Once again thanks everyone!!!

My suggestion would be to wait til that dress comes in! That way you can see if you want another experience. That way you wouldn’t be getting dress envy early on and for no reason. Hope this helps! 🙂
