- Wedding: July 2013
My wife and I were married in a very small ceremony last year, and had our larger shindig on 7/27/13. After the months of planning, stressing, agonizing, and blowing through the budget completely, we couldn’t believe the day was finally here.
We broke tradition and actually saw each other the morning of our wedding because we needed to print out our vows and work on the wording for the gifts to our parents. So, around 6:30 the morning of our wedding, we met down in the hotel’s business center and got to work.
The rest of the day was a bit of a blur. Lots of things went wrong (day-of coordinator didn’t pay the vendors like she was supposed to, so I had to leave the reception to find my checkbook and write out new checks; she set the room up ridiculously poorly, with the last row containing only 3 chairs; the room was hot as hades, so people were sweating even while sitting still; the lights were set to daylight, making the candles superfluous).
Luckily, even with all of those things going wrong, we had a GORGEOUS wedding that people are still talking about more than a month later. People exchanged numbers and have kept in touch with people they’d never met before. So, without further ado, photos of the Kelanna Wedding:
