I went dress shopping again today and came out even more confused than when I went it. I am literally all over the place. I’m not thinking that any of these dresses are “the one” but sometimes when I have them on I feel differently but as soon as I take them off they’re not in my head anymore. I’m not expecting tears, but I’m not getting anything. There is one dress I really want to try on before I think I can decide- the Wtoo Agatha. It was the first dress I ever tried on and I was so overwhelmed (as was my entourage) that no one thought to take a picture, but after looking online for months- it’s exactly the style I like. Anyway though, any opinions about which you like best, or any suggestions would be very very vey helpful! Thanks so much!
Dress 1 I loved and didn’t want to take off in the store. This was from my first dress shopping experience and it was the top contender.
Dress 2 I had been admiring on here for months and finally got to try it on, it had a gorgeous back (allure 2716) but it wasn’t really “fancy” enough, I think I just wanted a little bit of a fuller skirt.
Dress 3 I LOVED when I put it on, it was beautiful and I felt beautiful and bridal, it was pretty expensive and when I looked back at pictures of myself in it I wasn’t impressed. The color was gorgeous in person but when I looked at pictures I felt like I wanted to see myself in a gown with more of a skirt.
Dress 4 I also LOVED when I put it on, absolutely loved the color but thought it was a little too much gown, but when I look back at this picture I love it- but we took a ton of pictures in this dress and I didn’t love all of them. I also asked my fiance what he saw me in and he said something fitted, this is far from that. This is allure 2701.
Dress 5 is dress 4 with less poof, which everyone seemed to like, but I think it seemed to take away from the dress. Maybe a little more poof but less than the picture above?
Dress 6 was the first dress I tried on today, it’s a Maggie Sottero and I loved the shape and the tulle at the bottom but not so much all the beading on the top. I think it’s a similar shape to Agatha but I can’t remeber if Agatha has as much poof. This is just the right amount of tulle and poof though, so if anyone has less beady options for this send them my way!

I think number 1 is amazing, and looks fantastic on you.

hey, just a heads up a gal in my town in selling that first dress (selling for 1450 at DB) for 400 OBO- let me know if you want the details. its a 4

what was the style name of those- can you recall? they are gorgeous

I like dress #2 and #4, but all of the dresses are so different that it’s difficult to understand what look you are going for.

Personally I think dress 2 is by far the most flattering on you. Maybe a hoop or petticoat could help the fullness of the skirt? And I don’t like dress 1 at all, so I guess our opinions are on the opposite spectrum, haha.

You look great in #1. I don’t think any of the others are even close.

kristeana22: Thanks for the heads up! I think I needed an 8 in that though. Dress 3 is Martina Liana style 500 and Dress 6 is a Maggie Sottero but I don’t know the name of it, sorry about that!
georgetownbee: I know :/ I can’t seem to figure out what I want either. Somewhat of a fuller skirt and I really love tulle skirts. But I really seem to be all over the place and I don’t know what to do about that. That’s my biggest concern for myself, if that makes sense.

I am in love with dress 2 & 5, but honestly all the dresses look beautiful on you. My least favorite one is 6. It looks more like a prom dress. I wish you luck. I am looking at dresses now as well (:

If you want a less beady alternative to the last Maggie Sottero ballgown I would encourage you to seek out a dress by Mori Lee. I work in a shop that carries it and it is by far one of our best sellers, and most popular ballgown. The photo on the model is the light gold however I prefer the ivory which we have in the shop.
Mori Lee 5276 (retails around $950)
I might also recommend:
Essense of Australia D1751 (looks like it might be less busy than the Allure-dress #3 )
Stella York 5859
Pronovias ‘Mayumi’ (a fancier alternative to the Allure 2716-dress #2)

My jaw dropped at #4 and I also like it without the poof too. I just don’t particularly fancy #1 just because I don’t fancy the textured skirt but if you love it then you should go for it. I also would not worry about what your fiance “pictures” you in. You look fabulous in all of them and have a great figure. Anytime a bride on here mentions what their fiance wants or envisions I feel like 90% of them forget they ever said that when they see their bride on their wedding day. My fiance predicts that I chose a non-lace ballgown. I am wearing a lacy mermaid Pretty sure he is still going to marry me and think I look beautiful.

mazelmere: I love dress #4 – with the poof! I think it looks absolutely beautiful on you.

I voted for dress #3 but I also love you in dress #2 and dress #6. However, you don’t seem convinced by any of these dresses so maybe you should take some time off from the shopping to sleep on it and think about what you really want and then keep looking.

Mrshazelgrove: That’s a good point about the prom dress- I hadnt thought about it. J
llussier: I really like the Stella york one! Thanks for the suggestions!
jelly3: you’re right- definitely going to sleep on it. I’m just wondering why I’m not getting the “this is absolutely the one” feeling.
