I love love love my e-ring and wedding band…however lately I find myself dreaming of the day when I get another band to put on the top of the e-ring. Here is a picture:
Ignore the puffy swollen post flight fingers!
I certainly dont expect a second band soon…just wondering when other bee’s have gotten it! When we bought my wedding band Darling Husband was like “wow that would really look great with two bands”…so I know its somewhere in the back of his mind!
Just wondering when other ladies here with multiple bands got their second bands?

When I got my most recent set, I got three bands as I like a stacked look. So, techinically I suppose I waited 2 1/2 years, but it was an entire new set and I just bought them all at the same time. I think of them more as a set of wedding rings (or one ring when soldered!) rather than separate rings to represent different things.
I don’t know, I am not someone who necessarily believes you need to “wait” to get a second band for any particular reason unless it is really important to you to receive it as a “gift”. If you want it, and can afford it, why not? Older generations seemed to commonly wait for an anniversary (my assistant said when they got her rings, she told her husband she wanted the anniversary band for the first anniversary and got it!). The trend today seems to be to get rings for a “push present” but I kind of have my own thoughts about push presents, and that does not work well for those who are childfree (like me) or childless! People get what used to be “anniversary bands” for wedding rings these days, so I think things have changed.

My e-ring will set in an enhancer so it looks like I have a band in front and back. I love the look of 3 bands.

I bought both my bands before the wedding. Fiance had planned on getting me the second one for our first year anniversary, but we had a bunch of reward points to use at the jeweler so we just went for it.

First time round (30+ Years ago), I had an Engagement Ring that offered two matching bands (this is when the 3 ring trend began)… a Wedding band, and an Anniversary band. We ended up only buying the Wedding band… so I never did get the second ring.
I have several GFs now who have all been married 25+ Years, and their wedding ring fingers are piled high with bling… Engagement Ring, Wedding Ring perhaps an Anniversary Ring (typically an eternity band that is diamonds all the way round)… or a family heirloom ring (lots are wearing their Mom’s Rings once they pass on)
For myself, this time round…
I am looking to do a more chunky Engagement Ring… lol, at my age and not probably going to make it to my 25th Anniversary, I need all the bling I can get now. Also considering a Wedding Band that is the Anniversary style with Diamonds, and perhaps a plain one too. That way could change things up from time to time… E-Ring & Band together, E-Ring on Right Hand, Both Wedding Bands on Left Hand… or just the plain Wedding Band whenever my day looks like it might not be a good idea to be wrapped in glitter (gardening, scuba diving, etc)
@jboltz19: BTW your rings look lovely, agree a second one to match would look great. Curious though based on your wording “when I get another band to put on top of the e-ring” are you wearing your wedding band now closest to your heart, or your e-ring… can’t really tell from the pic which band is part of the e-ring… Traditionally one wears their Wedding Ring closest to them. When you have a Anniversary Band, then that can go either infront of the Wedding Band, or infront of the E-Ring if you wish to “frame” the E-Ring.
Not that putting the Wedding Band next to your heart is a hard-and-fast rule… but it is one that is commonly done.

@This Time Round: Yes my wedding band is on the “bottom” closest to my heart. When I get me second band it will be identical to my wedding bad so it will go on the other side of the e-ring.
Maybe somewhere down the road we’ll even upgrade my e-ring setting so its matching to my bands also! Bling bling bling!

I say get it whenever!! But Ibooted 1 year because then it’s an ‘anniversary’ band, LOL. I’m getting an ‘upgrade’ for 1st anniversary, because our budget this year wasn’t there. Next year is the ‘reception’ for EVERYONE and not just family, so we’re basically each getting a wedding ring for each ‘wedding’ 😉

I was asking myself the same thing, too! I really want a second band. I’m not sure if I should get the second band so it’ll be blessed during the cermony or I can just wait and have it as a anniversay/push present. *shrugs*

I would want a slim band to wear with an engagement ring in addition to the actual wedding band and just buy everything at the same time. the wedding band would wait till the wedding but a little band with the e-ring would be nice.
i’m sorry if this is a little off-topic but the term “push present” kinda grosses me out. not the concept, just the actual wording…

I’m not planning on a second band!

My hubby surprised me with my identical semi eternity on our 1year anniversary and I sandwich my e-ring and love it

I had to return my original wedding band so for a long time I had just a plain 2mm band (still have it and that’s what I wear most of the time). For my 10th anniversary I got a diamond half eternity band. I don’t think you have to wait for a special event or anniversary, but it made it special for me that I did.

I never added a second band to my set… But it looks like your one year anniversary is coming up… If you guys can afford it I say go for it… 🙂

I’m not planning on getting a second wedding band. I plan on getting other jewelry for push presents, and anniversaries and such. If we were to ever renew our vows, I would probably add another band, but otherwise not for me. I will be buying a plan gold band though to wear; in my opinion it will have the same symbolic meaning (although maybe not quite as special as my set) to wear when I go to work and such (I’m going to nursing school right now).
