Yesterday, Leap Day, we eloped. Still having our August wedding but we needed to get insurance stuff worked out asap so we went ahead and did it. It was fun and sweet and cute.
I had no idea that the courthouse ceremony would be so flowery! Lovely things were said instead of just quick and dirty legal jargon and our judge was quite nice and fun. It was pretty busy in there and I saw a few other brides all dressed up and cute.
We didn’t want to spoil it for anyone so we asked a friend and his friend to be our witnesses. It was all cute and fun, but mostly it is viewed as necessary paperwork for insurance. Haha.

my fiance and i are thinking of doing the same thing and keeping it total secret we are going to have our witnesses be friends that don’t talk to either family since we are having a formal ceremony in october but we need the extra money he gets from his V.A disability to help save up for the ceremony.

@melisa.lovell: We got married early to satisfy the VA too! My Fiance is disabled 100%, and I needed health insurance, so we went to our church with my sister and Brother-In-Law.
Congrats! And I love the shoes!!!
