I am from Grand Rapids MI where the news is spreading that there was a person paying off strangers layaway’s at K-mart. Word spread and now more people are going into stores and paying off other peoples layaway’s secretly. It is such a great feeling to know there are still people like this out there.
Darling Husband and I gave a dollar to an elderly lady at the store a few weeks ago because she was just that much short on her total. I know it was just a dollar but it made us feel good :)We may not have much to offer but anything I can do to help another is much more rewarding than receiving.

I live in Dearborn and I didn’t hear about this! There is an older lady where I work that will often come in to buy things for her grandkids (i work at a children’s resale shop) and if a younger customer is behind her with a child the older lady will have me charge their stuff to her account after she leaves. Its so cute to see the young parents faces! Lots of them even cry right then and there.
