@MarieeToBee:  Secrets Silversands. Amazing food and restaurants. The rooms and comfortable, clean, and luxurious (very streamline modern design). The staff are one of a kind amazing…the pools are many. The management will fix any issue you have.

Only issue is that the beach was runined by a hurricane few yrs back and the coral is near the shore…so not the best beach…but they do make up for it on the resort.

Also the entertainment and nightly music is great.

@KingsDaughter:  Silversands is at the top of our list for our September 2014 honeymoon – will the beaches be this way at that time, do you think?

@MarieeToBee:  We went to Silversands for our honeymoon. Overall we had an amazing time! If you are going for your honeymoon- I strongly urge you to get a Prefered Club room. The perks you receive with the complimentary package make it totally worth it! Even though they serve top-shelf liquor at all bars, the bartender at the preferred club lounge let us try many things.

The food was great! We didn’t care for Portofino (Italian) or Bordeaux (French) restaurants. We really appreciated not having to make reservations (except for the Hibachi table at Himitsu). The room service was fast and we especially loved their breakfast choices.

There are 8 or 9 pools out of which we only used 4 as they were the warmest. The pool service was good too. Like the PP said, the beach is terrible because of the hurricane, but fine for lounging in the sun. If we really wanted to swim, we just headed over to the pools.

If you have any other questions about the resort, please feel free to ask or PM me.

We’re going to Valentin Imperial Maya for our honeymoon 🙂

We know three couples who have been there and they all loved it. Two of the couples have gone back.

@thehappiestbridetobe:  the beach is perminately like that..but the resort does it best to make up for it in pool service. The shore line (beach) is good but not so much the water.

As for restaurants I enjoyed all them. My favorite was the traditional Mexican one El Patio.

We did Valentin imperial, it was nice…I liked the beaches, nice and secluded. Not much nightlife, just a sports bar and an outdoor dance set up late at Night. Property is nice but mildewy smell was everywhere. Didn’t like our rooms bathroom set up…no privacy! Not that newlyweds need tons if privacy from one another but if you want to take a #2 without your partner sensing it….you ar. Gonna have to walk a looooong way to find a public restroom. The grounds are huge, a lot of walking involved. Pools and bars are awesome, try a frozen nipple if you go.
