I think my three year old saw a ghost. He was sitting on my bed with me when he calmly said, “Who’s that man?” He was obviously intently looking at something and told me a man walked from the living room, through the bedroom and into the bathroom. He said he could see him standing in the doorway with his hand on his hip, leaning on some shelves. My son was fascinated and not scared at all, asking me “Is he nice? Does he talk?” I’m over being freaked out, but I’d really like to understand what my son saw. I know this wasn’t a dream or imagination by the curious look on his face. He drew a picture of the man the next day.

@jjmomma: Oh my gosh!!!!! So freaky. My parents say I used to see ghosts when I was like 2-3 years old. I don’t remember it at all.

@jjmomma: Whoa! Spooky! Who owned the house before you? Do you know its history? I’d be checking into it, lol.

Holy crap! Is this the first time this has happened?

@jjmomma: Ooooh freaky! I’ve heard a lot about children being more “in tune” with ghosts and stuff like that.
If it was his own imagination I doubt he’d be asking you questions about the man. Keep that picture and do some researching on the previous owners if you can!

I’d be worried he got into some mushrooms in the backyard or something (hallucinating) but that’s just me, lol. I don’t believe in ghosts and I’m always thinking about health stuff. I’m guessing 3 year olds probably have experiences like that a lot though. From my science-minded view, it’s because they are highly creative at that age and the boundary between reality and imagination has not yet been fully solidified.

I’m going with “seeing a ghost”. Aah!
But you definitely handled it REALLY well!
Maybe your house has a protector?

EEEEEEEEE! That’s creepy to me…maybe he just wasn’t feeling well??? Idk, I have a tendency to talk myself out of believing those kinds of things lol, you should look up some things like PP’s have said!

It’s the first time he’s been that specific, but he has asked about shadows quite often. My logical, computer nerd husband believes he saw ghosts as a child, too. We’re the first owners of the house (new construction) and even when this happened I didn’t feel anything creepy or unusual. I want to be skeptical and I wonder if its just a hopeful heart, but keep things that belonged to my dad on the shelves where my son described the man standing and when he drew the picture he described physical features similar to my dad as well.

@jjmomma: As I read this thread there was a huge thump upstairs! LOL.
I’ve been interested with ghosts since I was young. Personally, I do think kids can tap into the energy around us more than we can. They aren’t as “tainted” as some people like to say. My friend’s kid used to stare at the wall and talk to it, and it totally freaked her out. I think he was seeing something.
EDIT: Its probably your dad then. He might have a strong connection to the items or he’s just checkin up on ya. I wouldn’t be too worried. My grandmother knocks about this place, though I have never seen her I can feel her presense all the time.

Our neighborhood was previously farm land. I definitely feel my dad is around, but not as a form. Interestingly, when he first saw it he said it was all black (I thought he was seeing a dark skinned man), but now he asks “who” every shadow he sees is, so I think what he saw was a shadow form.

Are you scared or nervous about this energy? If so you could always have a religious person com ein and bless the house.
Personally, I think its dad just saying hi. Did he pass recently?

Dad passed almost four years ago. I wish I could know for sure it was him!
There’s definitely nothing creepy in the house… at the time it was freaky to hear my son ask about something I couldn’t see and I slept with the light on. Now I’m just full of questions.

Makes sense with new construction that it could be your Dad.
My civil engineer Dad saw a ghost once, too. I believe him. He doesn’t even believe in ghosts but swore he saw one and described it in detail. He’s a brilliant engineer with a very scientific mind, and not spiritually inclined at. all. So, if he says he saw a ghost I know he’s telling the truth.
I don’t want to ever see one myself, but I have to believe they exist; too many people have too much evidence that they do.
