You’ll be surprised how many ladies did a “first look” on this board. Some did it for pictures, others for some alone time before the hectic day. I’ve never once heard a bride regret the decision to see their groom before the ceremony though πŸ™‚

one of the best decisions i made regarding the logistics of the wedding! see my husband calmed me down more than anything and then i got to relax and enjoy our ceremony instead of being so emotional in front of everyone!

We are definately dong first look pictures. I am hoping it will take the edge off and make us less nervous for the ceremony.

i’m still trying to decide if we will see each other for a “first look” before the ceremony. Fiance isn’t for it too much, but i see many benefits from it. we’ll see!

I think it’s a “must” to spend time with my groom on our wedding day. We calm each other down like no one else and help each other keep perspective. I’d like to take a walk in the woods or find another way of spending a little quiet time alone together. Then I’ll go off and get dressed for the wedding and see him again at the altar. If we spent that entire day apart, I think we’d both be a wreck by evening!

My husband and I had a first look and I can’t say anything bad about it.  It gives you time alone to be with eachother because trust me you won’t have it later!  Plus the walk down the aisle is still just as special and romantic.  I couldn’t hear or see anything other than him.

We did a “First Look” and it was an awesome decision for us.  I knew I’d be kind of nervous if I waited to see him until later in the day.  It was a great moment, meeting just the two of us (and our photog) and I was really happy we did it.

I sleep with my Fiance every night since the moment he first came over to “watch movies.”  He came over one night, and never left!  No kidding!  So, we will definitely be together the night before.  I understand for some brides, it would be fun to have that mystery/ excitement and stay with their bridesmaids, but not for me.  Plus, my bridesmaids are all married, so, they’ll be getting busy on their own.  πŸ™‚

For sure–I think more and more people do see each other these days πŸ™‚ We’re definitely planning to do a “first look” and photos, but also, in Jewish tradition, the groom and bride see each other before the wedding to sign the traditional wedding contract. We definitely want to have one, so we’ll also see each other for that. Like some of the other bees, I think Fiance and I will be able to help each other stay calm & relaxed πŸ™‚

Like pps have said, a first look is becoming more and more common.

Fiance and I will be doing a first look because it will allow us to have the majority of our pictures taken before the ceremony. Our ceremony and reception are at the same location so it does not make sense to have the majority of our pictures taken after the ceremony.

I also like that Fiance and I will have a special moment just to ourselves when we do our first look. I know I will still be excited and emotional when I walk down the aisle, but the first look will be meaningful as well.

Sorr- I thought you meant the night before.  Hm.  You can tell what’s on my mind!  Just kidding. Yes, we are going to be together in the morning and have a leisurely breakfast, because that is just our style.  We are each other’s support system, and we will also exchange gifts.

we are definitely doing the first look, we want our ‘moment’ to be intimate… and it’ll help us to connect before the nerve-wracking ceremony! πŸ˜›

@cbee: “Watch movies,” eh? Too funny! I’m sleeping with my guy the night before too. My BM’s are giving me some flak about it, but honestly Fiance and I sleep terribly when we’re apart and I don’t want us to toss and turn all night and be exhausted on our wedding day.
