I think it is beautiful Maybe you just dislike the prongs? The new setting you chose is nearly ALL metal so I cannot see that being the issue. What specifically do you dislike about your ring? It has an interchangeable peg head so if you wanted a basket with less of a presence or smaller prongs or less prongs, they could easily switch it out much cheaper.

I don’t think the knife edge will look ‘less heavy’ as you put it.

Olivepepper:  Me either. It’s a large stone and what looks like a tiny little finger so it’s definitely going to have some “presence”. The band/shank is very delicate and pretty with the pave stones. Replacing it with a metal knife edge will mke the ring look heaviER (although it will probably look awesome with that particular wedding band).

I love your current ring! I would maybe see about changing it from a 6 prong to 4? That way you will have less metal on the stone.

emilytran:  First off, it’s a beautiful ring and congratulations!

I also think it could be the prongs, they do come right around. What do you think about the shape of four prongs?

Maybe keep it for a few months, just to see if it grows on you before you make any major changes. I think it looks pretty good and danity as it is

emilytran:  I think it a beautiful ring and I don’t think the other setting will look any thinner.

emilytran:  are you trying to send your moissanite to Brian Gavin or is that just the setting you like?

my loose diamond is at Brian Gavin right now and they were really helpful anytime I had questions in the process.

i am in love with bg settings which is why I sent mine out, but to me the knife edge will look chunkier than the one you have now, with the exception of the prongs. You should be able to get a jeweler to shave the prongs down a bit withput getting a whole new setting
