I’m so glad to hear that wedding planning is going well overall! I think many of us have dealt with issues of peak season weddings — there’s always something, right? ๐Ÿ˜‰

How expensive are we talking? Is it possible to block out rooms at a couple of hotels at different prices?

Also, don’t forget that when it comes to discount hotel rooms, the Internet is a great thing. If your guests are looking for something a little less expensive that what you’ve been able to block out, they can always check out Priceline or Hotwire or one of those discount sites. ๐Ÿ™‚

@SoonToBeSimmons:  Is it possible that everything is so expensive right because of how far out the wedding is? For these types of things there seems to be a sweet spot.. not too far, not too close, where prices go way down.

My fiance and I are planning a wedding six hours from where we live. Having a hotel wedding was our best option! We also have alot of out of town guests and it will be so awesome for everyone to stay as long as they can at the reception and not have to do any driving! It’s also great for us because our wedding night room is free! It’s certainly not “cheap” but our ceremony, cocktail hour, reception and hotel is all in one place. Consider it a one stop shop and youre not spending money elsewhere!
