your links dont work, try reposting them or at least mentioning the style names as we can easily see you are looking at the jcrew website.

the links work for me. they are for the claudine and janey dresses.

the janey dress is actually on sale now, so it’s in your budget. if they dont have all the sizes you need online, call their wedding consultant. she’ll help you locate them all over the country. also check ebay, weddingbee classifieds and craig’s list.

good luck!

Have you checked the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses on the Alfred Angelo site?  (http://www.alfredangelo.com)  The new 2009 dresses just came out and there are some really nice ones in my opinion……..

#7002 and #7008 are similar to the jcrew dresses but they aren’t in cotton.  They do come in 55 different colors.  My bridal party girls loved the #7002 so much when they tried it on and they are under $150!  They also have several jersey knit dresses that are less formal.  Hope this helps give you some alternatives…….

This Alfred Sung dress is pretty similar to the second one you posted — the picture shows it with contrasting trim, but you can get it all in one color — and at RK Bridal in NY they have it for $120. I was just looking there yesterday. It’s style #D412. Not sure if it would cost more elsewhere, though, since RK Bridal has pretty cheap prices compared to other places I’ve been.

I know you are eager to get your bmaid dresses, but you may be able to wait a little longer and the JCrew dresses will go on sale. I waited, and the girls got theirs for $97 – plus they’ll ship them within the same week.

Wow, 6 months away – that’s plenty of time, I think! 🙂

I was ALL ABOUT getting my bridesmaid dresses at J. Crew for the quality alone, but I wanted to be able to see them in person (they will send you fabric samples, but it’s not really enough for me), and the prices were a bit much (even on sale – they’re usually FINAL sale, which is scary!).  Also, I need one size 14-16, which they don’t have in all the dresses!

Other places I found similar simple good-quality bridesmaid dresses:
Dillard’s – up to size 16
Nordstrom – Nicole Miller up to size 12
Anthropologie
The Limited
Banana Republic
Wtoo (Bridesmaid dresses) – up to size 24
Ann Taylor Celebrations – up to size 18 (and this is where I ultimately found my bridesmaid dresses on my first day out shopping (this dress – 100% dupioni silk!) on the clearance rack, for $19.88 EACH!!!)
This one is a lot like the J Crew Cady Dress (and I did see them in green on the clearance rack at the Ann Taylor in Houston) (P.S. Only certain stores carry the Celebrations line in store)

Hope you find something you like! 🙂
