Look at http://www.verterra.com. They have a great selection of disposable, compostable, and sturdy dinnerware; prices are very reasonable:

As for the mason jars: though cute, personally I find them difficult to handle, can’t seem to drink from them without spilling! If you would consider other options:

There are companies that will rent place settings, drinkware, and linens. Not sure where you’re located, but I would google part supply rentals in your area. You may need to purchase the mason jars. You can price compare your local craft stores.

Check out WebstaurantStore – wide selection and good prices for all things party. You may want to check out their canned and baottled food too.

Mason jars are just canning jars. Places like Kmart/Costco/Walmart carry them and may run sales coming up on canning season.

The Dollar Tree carries mason jar mugs, which may not be as heat resistant as a jar made for canning.

We are doing something similar. I just found an article where the bride bought different plates & silverware from Goodwill, Salvation Army (they generally have days where everything is half off). I think this is the route we are going to go because I like the ecclectic look of the plates plus we don’t have to worry about anything getting broke. You can also get the silverware from Sam’s Club. They are really reasonable. Then everything can be donated & used as a tax write off. Our mason jars are coming from websturantstore.com
