We got our engagement photos back and they are nice – as in I like the lighting, they weren’t too formal, etc. So I’m happy with the photographer. I just feel like I look really heavy in them. I have gained weight over the last few years and just am not super comfortable about all the photos… or that they are all online… I told my mom I didn’t feel great about them and she just asked me if I was going to lose weight for the wedding. Blergh.
Just a vent. I am normally a very confident person but the pressure to try to be “perfect” for the wedding is getting to my brain.

you can ask the photographer to photoshop you thinner

I have felt the same way :c treat yourself to something nice (a new piece of wardrobe, an accesory) and repeat yourself that you are BEAUTIFUL and AMAZING and that your weight doesn’t define you. If you feel really bad about the photos being online tell your mom to please take them off or you will report them to FB (they will take then down for you).
Eventually you will look back at the photos and focus more on the memory thab however you looked back then 🙂 Meanwhile, if you wish to, you can use them as a motivation to become healthier fron now and until your wedding or even beyond.

PIm sure you look beautful! I think what made me very beautiful is the love in my eyes. 😍

You can use these feelings as motivation to get in shape for your wedding! You don’t need to try and be “perfect”, just try to make healthier choices everyday which can make a big difference in the long run. Your goal should not be to lose a ton of weight before your wedding.. It is more important that you look and feel healthier.

I am 100% certain you are being overly critical of yourself and that you are gorgeous. You don’t need to be perfect, you just need to be yourself, happy and in love. If those pics show this, then they are a success.
As for the suggestion that you get the pics photoshopped to look thinner, I seriously side eye this.

Ignore any and all suggestions to get in shape for the wedding. You need to get in shape for you and you will do that when you are ready.
Any weight lost with drastic diet or exercise will be back before you get the dress back from the cleaners. Getting to a healthy weight requires a conscious decision to live a healthier lifestyle forever. You don’t have to make huge changes when you take this route. When you eat healthy and exercise normally (both to an extent that you can maintain), the weight will come off and stay off.
Be kinder to yourself.

I’m in the same boat as you for some reason I looked 20 pounds heavier then I am in my engagement photos and sometimes the lens they use can really screw up a picture… So I feel you and my photographer wouldn’t photoshop me she wasnt really heLpful I’m sorry bee!
