Ok, dumb question, but what about offering to help other bees with invite designs and stuff?

Not a “I’ll make it and you buy it” scenario, but an honest “if you need help, I can help/will make it for you” type scenario (if that makes any sense).

I’ve offered to help bees and put a general “willing to help anyone who wants/needs it” type comment up a few places.  (Admittedly, I’ve said I have a zazzle store but I’ve NEVER posted a link since it isn’t wedding related!)

Please advise!  I wrote a post about a dress I won after entering an essay contest.  I mentioned it in a thread and some bees wanted to hear the story/see the dress.  So, I worked on the post (I’m still new…I think it’s the first thread I’ve ever started) and put it up in the dress forum.

It posted fine, as someone commented on it right away, but minutes later, the entire post was gone.

Did I violate the policy?  I wasn’t benefiting from the post…I already won the contest and was just sharing the story.

@redheadem I believe that would be ok under this policy, but I am not 100% sure

I don’t really get it. I’ve done some tutorials on my blog and I link people to it for help when they need in. Sorry for the misunderstanding!

I don’t understand why we can’t “self-promote” within our own profiles/bios? To get to those someone has to actively seek it out, and I know for me personally if there is a Bee I dig enough that I want to check out her profile, I’ll probably be super interested in whatever blog or business she’s got going on too (esp since so many Bees have wedding planning or marriange/baby blogs). It’s tough keeping all the creepy spammers out, but one thing I love about WB is how we support each other as a community, which includes sharing personal and professional endeavors.

A while back I offered 100% FREE no strings attached wedding stationary design to WBees, to hone my skills and hopefully promote my business through personal refferals. All my posts got flagged saying they were in violation, but I didn’t think this was fair at all. I’m just a former bride who was trying to help out other brides.
