Im just wondering, how many of you sold your wedding dress after?
Im thinking about it, and have been thinking about it for a while now, i really need the money, but im worried i will regret selling my dress in the long run… im not sure what to do…
Also my parents bought my dress for me, and i dont think i could tell them that i want to sell it, but AGAIN, i really really need the money right now (my hours got cut at work, 12 hours a week). Pros: I get $ in right now, i dont have to store it. Cons: dress is gone forever, my future daughter wont have the option of wearing it or using pieces of it for her dress, have to tell my parents i want to sell it…
IDK, what do you all think? What would you do?

If you sell it, you won’t be able to wear it around the house while you do the laundry and vacuuming, you know. 😉
I don’t plan to sell mine, partly because I’m not really good at that sort of thing (online) and partly because I might want to wear it again (maybe do a TTD shoot). By the way, my Mom kept hers and I could never wear it because 1) she is shorter than me and was much thinner than I am and 2) it’s really not in style after 45 years, haha. I mean….it had long sleeves and a hoop….not really my thing. 🙂 So, your daughter (if you have one) may not end up wearing it anyway!

@Juliepants: Yea, i didnt want to wear my moms!! It was a hideous 80’s dress LOL, so i know my daughter would most likely not want to wear mine.

i didnt wear my mom’s either, but i do rememer looking at it as a kid and thinking it was the most beautiful thing ever. I wont sell mine because it’s my wedding dress. to some people it’s just a dress. but i’m way to sentamental to get rid of it.
If you dont mind me asking what dress do you have? How much do you think you would get for it reselling it?

If you sell it, it’ll be gone forever. With that being said, I’m a fan of selling wedding dresses. My SO is not. So, we’re keeping it. Talk with him about it too. He may have opinions about it that you didn’t know.

@MrsJules10: Its nothing special, i bought it from a small boutique at my local mall, the tag says A+T, which i have never heard of and cant find any information on the internet and the store owner wont give me any info. Im not sure how much to sell it for, we spent $800 on it, here is a pic
@Peony007: We have talked about it, he thinks its just a dress and we need money so get rid of it. But its my wedding dress… Its really hard for me to let go of… 🙁

There are 2 reasons I will keep mine:
1. I want to have it made into something for my daughter to carry on her wedding day and incorporate into her wedding.
2. If I have a granddaughter I want to make the remaining into a pillow or blanket for her.

I had a really hard time deciding what to do. I LOVED my dress and got so many compliments on it on the day of. However, I decided to post it and see what happens. Sure enough I got an offer on it and I decided to sell it and make someone else as happy as it made me. Otherwise, it woulid have just sat in my closet. Sometimes i miss seeing it but I know i made the right decision! And if i ever miss it, I have the pictures to look at!

I sold mine. I already have an adult daughter, and a) she’s not remotely the same size as me, and b) her taste is quite different from mine.
