A picture would help, but if you want to keep the dress you might be able to have a seamstress sew on some lace sleeves.

I want sleeves, but I think it’s easier to buy a strapless dress and add sleeves

Doesn’t Davids allow you to exchange for dresses of an equal or greater value? That is what I was told when I purchased my dress through them.
