I would be too! It’s great that your dress will get to make someone else’s wedding day a dream, but it’s definitely understandable that you would be upset. This is something that holds one of the most precious memories in your life, it’s a normal feeling to be attached.

Is there any time before you send the dress that maybe you can do a rock the dress session in it? DON’T trash it of course, just wear it and enjoy it one more time!

it’s OK to be sad! it’s a beautiful dress and its hard to come to terms to letting it go. Try to think of it as making this other’s girls wedding beautiful too!

It’s definitely ok to be sad! This was what you wore on one of the most important days of your life and it has a ton of memories attached to it.  Even though it won’t be in your posession anymore you can still look back at all of your pictures and remember how special it was

It’s ok to be sad! It’s the “real” ending of your wedding. If that makes sense. But this feeling will pass.

Good thing it’s going to a good home though. 🙂

Yes! I’ve been working on my listing post, and it’s hard. I LOVED my dress- it was my favorite thing I’ve ever worn, and it may be the most beautiful dress I’ll ever wear. But it was expensive, and it *needs* a party (has feathers on it!)-keeping it in a closet would be a travesty.

I decided to keep my feather fascinator instead, which made me happy- I’d be okay with loaning it as a something borrowed someday, and it takes up a LOT less space.

Where did you sell your dress? I’m thinking about ebay and recycledbride.com, to start.

I totally understand how you feel. I was just thinking about this tonight. I am just not ready to let go of it quite yet. Thankfully I am able to wait as we don’t need the money.

I know I will never wear it again and yes it is just sitting in a box taking up space…but seriously this is THE dress. My wedding dress. It took me so long to get it I am having a hard time letting it go.

@Kenic315:  great, thanks! Hadn’t heard of Oncewed, so I’ll try that one, too
