I’m a seller.  Some tips:

  • Always take your own pics of what you’re selling.  Taking pics off a website is using copyrighted material and will get your listing pulled.
  • Be VERY CLEAR about what you are selling.  Some people want refunds because they had no idea it wasn’t (whatever).
  • MANDATE postal insurance for the sale.  Then if the PO loses the shipment, you can refund the buyer.
  • PAYPAL is a seller’s (and buyer’s) best friend.  Use it!!

I’ve both sold and bought stuff off and on for the last couple years.

MightySapphire gives some great tips. On to it I would emphasize the clear listings. I always make sure to state No Refunds, No Exchanges. And I agree with posting your pictures too because as a buyer it proves to me that you have the item you are selling.
Realize that eBay does take a portion of your earnings and it costs to list whether your item is sold or not. And then if you use PayPal they take another percentage.

I think the good price is relative. It depends on condition of your item, what you are selling.

And there is a huge difference between selling odds and ends on eBay versus making it a business.

I sell things on Ebay all the time and love it! I think it’s so exciting and it’s a great way to earn extra money for wedding items. I’ve sold about 400.00 worth of goods in just 2 months. Since I hate using my credit card, I just pay for my wedding related purchases through paypal. It doesn’t feel like I’m spending money since it’s technically not coming from my pockets!
