I haven’t sold mine yet, but I discounted it a little more than 50% from the cost of the gown (not including any alterations).

I haven’t sold a dress yet, but all the one I’ve seen online are at least 30% or less than the original price. A lot of it has to do with the condition of the dress.

that sounds really fair for a $4,000 dress! Just remind her to make sure she has had it cleaned, and that she notes any permanent stains/damage in her listing, so that her prospective buyers know exactly what they would be getting. I occasionally see people on those pre-owned sites asking $1500++ for dresses that they have not even had cleaned and I just think that is DISGUSTING. I get that it’s expensive to have wedding dresses cleaned, but if you’re going to charge someone four figures for a piece of clothing the least you should do is make sure you’re not giving it to them with the original dirt from your outdoor wedding ceremony all over the hem!

I haven’t *actually* sold mine yet, but when I do, I plan on listing it for $200. (I paid $350 plus $300 for alterations…so it actually fits a “normal” shaped woman!) And I also don’t plan on cleaning it before then, but letting the buyer know (they’re still getting a great deal!)

I’m not selling mine, but I did shop some briefly before I found my sample, so I can give the shopper perspective… I didn’t look at any that were less than 50% discount.
