MrsG2BIre: My SIL swears by accupuncture. They struggled conceiving both kids (16 months with their first, and 27 I believe with their second), and she says both times two months or so after she started accupuncture she got her BFP. She didn’t want to assume after they conceived the first baby that the accupuncture changed the game, but after 2 years of struggling for their second, she did accupuncture again and was pregnant two cycles later (she has long cycles).

Even now, she continues with her acupuncturist to help keep regular cycles. They’re done having babies now (she’s a cancer survivor and can’t have any more children), but she saw the benefits for her body and won’t stop going. I plan to start sometime next year!

Hopefully it helps you as well!

MrsG2BIre :  Thank you! I am very, very happy. But cautiously optimistic because we had a miscarriage a few months ago. My RE looked at the SA and made the minor comment based on the whole thing. So I’m honestly not sure. I remember my OB commenting on it too and only thinking one number was not great. Let me check my portal and see if her notes are on my chart. We tried for about 9 months naturally. Then we did two cycles of Femara with my OB. Got pregnant on the second cycle of that. After the mc did one natural cycle, followed by another Femara cycle. After that we went to the RE and did a higher dose of Femara plus trigger and IUI. I was kind of anxious to move things along. We have a son we conceived easily and were dealing with secondary infertility. I really wanted him to have a sibling without a huge age gap. So I was kind of pushy with my OB. It took some convincing to get her to start testing and treatment.

Okay, here’s what my OB said. I think the last part she’s referring to the morphology.

The majority of parameters were normal. The total value was slightly low, but the count and motility of the sperm are normal. There were also some very strict criteria they look at which were low, but frankly, these particular criteria are rarely read as normal. The fact that you were able to get pregnant is very reassuring.

MrsG2BIre :  nope the month we got pregnant his numbers were 55 million total count, 56% motility and 1% morphology.  He had those other numbers throughout his different SAs.  Some had less sperm, better morphology, and less motility.  He was really all over the board with them.   The only significant change in this specific SA were his motility results were in the normal range for the first time ever.

I’m 32 so I understand the feeling on the age thing.
