So most of you know that I got my guestbook from Things Engraved wedding package that I won a couple of months ago. It’s a normal guestbook and I want to jazz it up to be more me and Fiance. So I discovered the Martha Stewart picture with the mini envelopes and decided that’s what we are doing.
So here is what I have done so far, bought cardstock on sale at Michaels and Walmart, got the Martha Stewart Score board for 50% off at Michaels and created my first 2 mini envelopes. I played around with them until I found the right size I liked.
I made 2 different sizes so that I can fit 4 envelopes per page.I made the little inserts for ppl to write on them.
I cut out a whole bunch of squares using yellow, red, brown, orange colors, and the same colors for the inserts but I added a tan color to the mix as well. These are all the falls colors we are incorporating into our decor at the hall.
I started making the envelopes using the scored board, it’s a very usefull tool. I used a glue tape – double sided adhesive to glue the bottom flap to the side flaps.
I made 6 envelopes yesterday
and making more today.
This is what a page will look like once I glue them on, I’ll play around with the colors.
So what do you ladies think?
I’m excited to see this process, hopefully you will too. I’ll keep updating it as I go.

love these! i’ve seen so many amazing ideas, but this one is cute but not too overdone (yet).

Looking good! Are you putting the same coloured inserts in the same coloured envelopes? I would worry about guests being able to see them.

They look fantastic! Only advice: if you used the glue tape from Martha Stewart OR Dollarama, my effing pocketfolds and envelopes seperated after 4 or 5 days. I would see how strong it has stuck before doing too many more (trust me on that… grr)
Also, I can’t wait to see when it’s put together completely!

@GreenDream: I’ll be laying out the inserts beside the guestbook and they can grab different colors to write on it.
@takemyhand: Thanks for that advice. I did do a testing before I went ahead and started doing all of these and the glue stuck fine, they didn’t come undone, thank goodness. I’m sorry to hear about your pocketfolds though.

So today I worked on making more little envelopes, the smaller sized ones. I will be making lots of them and then glue them on the book itself.
Ended up making alot of them today.
I’ll keep updating as I make more and assemble this project, thanks for following me and giving me advice.

I think it is cute and they look great! What a great way to personalize your guestbook!

Glad to hear yours stuck!!! I made a whack of envelopes using that glue and thick cardstock and it was so frustrating I switched to E6000. Anyways, I’m loving the colours and your envelopes all look so nice!

Looks great! What kind of paper cutter do you have? I bought one recently and it’s useless. Won’t cut through thicker scrapbook paper, just tears it. How thick is your cardstock? Sorry for the 20 questions!

@MsPanda: Thanks, I like the plain one but it’s not US, so since I’m personalizing everything else Fiance is ok with me doing this to jazz it up.
@takemyhand: E6000 is my best friend when it comes to strassing my shoes, I love that thing.
@sweetie78: I used 65lb cardstock, I bought the Westcott Titanium Bonded cutter, it comes with a scorer and a cutter as well, here’s a pic, the blue piece is the scorer and the yellow is the cutter, it’s a great cutter, I bought it at walmart on sale for 10 bucks.
And you can ask as many questions as you’d like 😀
