Sent out my Save the Date cards this week and I am happy to report that they were received without issue! I was so worried with postage stories I have heard. I used 0.66 stamps for domestic and $2 stamps for international.
Our cards were semi-DIY…
I designed & ordered the cards from Snapfish using our engagement photos and a 25% off coupon:
Then I had also gotten it in my head that I wanted to include magnets..so I designed these using publisher:
I ordered these from UPrinting who sent me a proof to approve and I got 100 of them for around $40.
Then it came to assembly options. I love the cute craft paper tags that people are using a lot these days so I ordered myself up a large batch of large tags. I used my handy corner rounder on them and an exacto knife to cut slits in each corner to put the magnet on the tag…
Once I had these done, I needed a cute way to combine the cards with the tags. Enter baker’s twine! I found some in purple and away I went…
Took a few tries with a blank tag (I stamped it just for fun..didn’t end up doing this on all of them) to get the tying just right…but I worked it out. This served as my template for all other cards.
Once they were all done it was time to address them and mail them off! Even though these came with plain white envelopes I wanted something a little fancier and order these heavy weight cream color envelopes from Amazon.
I also ordered return address labels and matching envelope seals from VistaPrint. (Information is XXXXX out to protect privacy. I sealed all our envelopes using my Scotch Tape Glider – WORTH IT JUST FOR THIS ALONE!!
Once they were all ready to go I dropped them off for mailing and the next day many local guests had received theirs! Yay! I know it’s a little earlier than most for a May wedding but our guests have been asking for so much information that we decided to send these a little early!
