Best to send them as soon as a gift arrives. Guests appreciate knowing it got there (especially physical gifts, but also contributions to honeymoon registries, etc.), and it will cut down on your thank-you load after the wedding. You will be glad for every one you get out of the way beforehand!

Definitely send them as they arrive because 1) guests will appreciate knowing that you have received them and 2) if you wait until after the wedding, you will be swamped with thank you notes! The more you can get out of the way now, you should! 😀

@KCKnd2:  Great advice. I was planning on sending them after our honeymoon, but we are away for a few weeks. I better start writing them now!

If gifts arrive before the wedding, send thank-yous as soon as you are able so people know you received them.  For gifts given at the wedding, or received afterwards, you have a little more time for the thank yous, since you’ll likely go on a honeymoon right after the wedding and have a lot of notes to write afterwards.
