I don’t think I would recommend it as it just seems to casual for a formal “thank you”.  There are quite a few places where you could do a folded note card with a picture- Vistaprint, Shutterfly… and I’m sure there are many more.

I think if you had a ton of guests that this is a fantastic idea!  You’ll save A TON on postage!  A cute idea would be to put your wedding picture on the opposite side of the postcard.  Then they’ll have a picture of you they can keep (and let’s face it, no one keeps your thank you card…).  As long as you write by hand on the other side, I think you can keep the formality of a thank you combined with the innovation of providing a picture for everyone to keepsake.  Moo.com has postcards you can personalize.  I used them for my Save-The-Date Cards.  They were great, and the software was easy to work with.  Check it out!

I love that idea! I’m always happy to get a thank you note, and I don’t care if it comes in an envelope or not. 😉

I think it would be a great idea if you arent having a super formal wedding. We are doing postcard STD’s and thank you cards. Our wedding is in Vegas so postcards and travel kind of go together. But I love the idea of postcards, you could use a pic of you and your FI/DH holding the little thank you signs or just a wedding pic.
