I’m sorry, like, a real poster-sized poster?  I don’t understand the point. It sort of seems like a waste of money to me…you’ll have to pay extra postage, too.  Plus, I generally like scrapbooking the invitations, and I couldn’t do that with a poster… it would likely just get recycled.

I think a poster is a neat idea for a carnival/rock n roll/ect. theme, but people would still throw it away.  Would you really hang a poster with 2 relatives’s names on it in your house?  Maybe use the poster as decor for your reception and stick to normal size invites.

If you’re talking about a full-size poster as an invite, I personally don’t like that idea.  It wouldn’t even fit in my mailbox, so I’d have to go down to the post office and get it.  And I would throw it away almost immediately.  Seems very impractical.

Mrs. Joey (Kangaroo) did actual poster invites and mailed them in tubes. They looked really cool and she was able to use them as decor as well. Maybe look at some of her posts in the archives for ideas. I think it is a fun idea and totally agree that all invites eventually get thrown out so do what you like!

@oneovakind:  Now that you’ve clarified, I think that sounds cute for an offbeat wedding.
