Can you buy the stuff, and get it shipped to your wedding planner?

I have no idea what you’d do with the stuff after, though!

@ellynetd:  Have you asked your wedding planner if she would be willing to receive and store things for you?  You could purchase things ahead of time, including from Craigslist, and have them shipped to her.

I would do everything that you can find w/ free shipping. Also – if you figure the cost of checked luggage vs. shipping it is better to do checked luggage. I am doing the same thing, since I am decorating and funding w/ my FI – I want to see everything before it goes to Hawaii, but we are just going to take it w/ us. Also, just by getting married in Hawaii you won’t need much for decorations, let the guests enjoy the beauty of the islands and figure out how to use that in your special day.

@ellynetd:  You can also ask the hotel where you will be staying, if they would be willing to receive and store things. I have done that with hotels I use on a regular basis when we were planning a future convention.

The cheapest way to do this is to absolutely bring it with you in your luggage….keep checking those bags!

We sent a few small packages but brought most everything in our suitcases. It’s much cheaper.
