I am planning to send out our offical invites at the end of this month for a end of October wedding. My RSVP date is October1st so we can plan accordingly for food and such..
in that case, does 3 months out from date of wedding okay?

You will probably get a lot of “no too early” responses but I don’t see a problem with it. I’ll be sending mine out that early. The more notice people have, the more likely they’ll come.

@Krystaldansberry: i sent mine out early (a little over a week ago) because we have a lot of people coming in from out of state, and our RSVP date is August 31. our venue wants head counts by Sept 18 (crazy, I know).
in your case, since your RSVP date is so late, I would definitely try to wait until at least August before sending them out. I gave my folks about 7 weeks to respond, but they say if your wedding isnt a Destination Wedding you should only give four weeks to respond (that would mean sending yours out about the first week of Sept). if you WANT to be early, send them out the first week of August.

I just sent mine this week for our November 10th wedding. It’s on a long weekend and it’s a semi destination wedding so I figured the more notice I give, the better. It has all of the info for booking the hotel and the rooms are only blocked off until October 9th so people have just under 3 months to book.
I know as a guest I prefer to receive things earlier rather than later.
