I’m having two dresses–totally doable! As much as I won’t want to take off my gown we’re having our after party at a dive bar (first place we met, don’t judge we were set up ha) and there’s no way my $$$$ gown is going there. Plus I wanted something fun to dance around in for later in the night.

I’ll prob change after our “special” dances which are after dinner. I got mine made on esty from the seller Shaunasworld and she’s been great! (The first seller I chose didn’t make the dress! Etsy fail!) If you have questions on the seller I’m using let me know!

While the wedding blogs, etc want you to believe otherwise, Asian brides are pretty much the only ones in real life who have dress changes before the reception. Most women do not want, nor can they afford, a second dress when the first dress will only be worn an hour at most out of their entire lives and costs $$$. Do whatever you want though. There is also no rule saying you can’t wear a short dress to marry in and wear it the entire day.

I LOVE the idea of two dresses, espeically if your ceremony has a different vibe than your reception…

I have totally been struggling with the same thing!  I went to Dolly’s boutique and fell in love….the only problem is that I already have a dress, and frankly, I would break my moms heart if I didn’t wear it all night.  So, I am getting “Moonriver” and wearing it to the rehearsal dinner and also to our receptions in our hometowns (we are having a destination wedding.)

I am having a tea length for the reception.  I love, love, love this dress.  I went through a ton just to get it and it was the first dress I found.  It is a terrible picture as I had to hold it on as the seamstress screwed it all up.  Its a justin alexander from 4 years ago, it was a sample.

My dress is two dresses in one! It is a tea length dress w/ a long detachable skirt. I am wearing it long for the ceremony and short for the reception.

@jmquintanilla:It’s from Martina Liana. She makes a couple of convertible dresses. Check ’em out!

PS. Here’s a cell phone quality pic. of me in the dress. You totally can’t tell it’s convertable.

I am sooo in love with solid red wedding dresses but I know it would be a scarlet-letter scandal in my church. I am SOOOO seriously considering buying one for the reception. Have not made up my mind yet.

@punky_brewster: It looks so much prettier on you than on the model…
