I agree that I’d rather pay a trained makeup artist more to come to my venue and do my makeup.
However I think it could be good because it allows them to curb the amount of people who are taking advantage of free trials (by which I mean not actually purchasing products – just trying to get their makeup done) and allows them to focus on people who are genuinely interested in having their makeup done AND purchasing products (because they are in the business of selling makeup). I know I’d hate to have to wait for a salesperson when I’m there to buy if someone is just getting their makeup done for free.
It’s not like you can’t still try products and get advice from salespeople when you need it – it just means if you’re going to dominate a good deal of their time they’re going to charge for it.
