- Wedding: July 2013
I’m having a headache for finding an MUA and lately, starting to think about getting my MU at sephora. And I fear if they will be good enough for wedding. To help understaindng, here’s some background why it’s so hard to find an MUA.
– I don’t wear makeup. I often use BB cream to protect my skin and give some coverage but that’s all. And for special occasions, I used a tinted lipbalm. So I don’t have the skill and products to DIY.
– In my life, I got three professional make up services. Two of them were horrible. And the one which I didnt hate, was so light and it was hard to notice it was makeup. It was okay but I seriously wondered why I paid much to get an invisible makeup. It was an occasion I was supposed to get a professional makeup and my friends asked me if I DIYed as it didn’t seem like enough makeup.
– I don’t live in the town. I’m 1000 miles aways from the city where the wedding will be in.
– I am an Asian, and the city I’m getting married in is a mid-sized midwestern city where I don’t see much diversity. I believe MU for Asian is different from MU for Caucasian. I’m not sure where I can find an MUA who’s good at Asian MU. Googling hasn’t helped much.
During googling, I started to think about Sephora service. It seems the town at least has a Sephora store (no mac cosmetics). Thinking their MUA at least should have learned about Asian MU. Maybe not..?
I’ll visit the town once or twice before the wedding and I am thinking about getting a trial and a wedding makeup there. But is Sephora application good enough for a wedding? Is there anyone with experience? And where do you find your makeup artists? It’s so daunting 🙁 Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
