Hey guys! I’ve been stalking the boards for a while but now I’m gonna come on out! I’m in NC so just wondering who else has the brave date of Sept 11, we wanted to make it a joyous day and a great memory! Any other takers??? I haven’t done half the stuff I need to get done! OMG! I have so much to do but hopefully it will work out! Can’t wait to meet you all!!!

Welcome to the wonderful world of posting! There are plenty of us with Sept 11th dates – some previous posts have been here, here, and here. And trust me – you’re not the only one who still has a bunch of stuff to do!

Yep, that’s my date too. Honestly, in 10 years, nobody will notice the date. People get married on D-day and Pearl Harbor (the first time America had been attacked on its own soil!) all the time. Nobody thinks twice about it. It’s been almost a decade….time to reclaim the day. And, as a side benefit, there were way more vendors available on that day!

Right here! I don’t care about the date anymore. People give me comments but I have a standard “I think it’s time to change the meaning of the day. It’s a good time to celebrate family and friends and recognize the value of your life and relationships and not taking things for granted.” I find that typically makes people shut up. Lots of terrible (and wonderful) things have happened on every day of the year, but over time you have to take the meaning from the event and incorporate that into your life, but a day is just a day. It doesn’t change anything or mean anything. What happened on September 11th could easily have happened July 1st or November 23rd.

I’m from NY and I was stuck Manhattan on 9/11 and had to walk across the bridge home into brooklyn. It was a horrible day however, I decided on that date with no problem. While it wasn’t my first choice, I had no problem going with it as an alternative choice. I’m happy that my wedding day is 9/11/2010. That way no one can say they forgot and future hubby won’t be able to say he doesn’t remember our anniversary…lol

Hi! I am a September 11th bride as well. I knew for a fact that I wanted to get married in September on a Saturday at a certain venue in my hometown and Sept. 11th was the only date opened (imagine that). Anyhow, I never had a hard time with it , although my Fiance was a little worried about it at first. Now he is on board and we both agree that we want to make this a good day with good memories with our family and friends who we are fourtunate to have. We are going to do a “in memory of” on our programs that list our grandparents who have passed away and also include the victims of 9-11.
