@PilotsGirl56: awwww, I feel badly that you found out that way and that DH wasn’t there – but what wonderful news!! I think no matter when you find out, it is amazing – and how fabulous that you are going to keep it a secret too! I give you and @hamikay:
a ton of credit for that!

@CircleFace: Yes, thanks! We thought it was a boy all along, so it is nice to have that confirmation. It is going to be hard to not accidentally say something.

@PilotsGirl56: yeah i found myself saying ‘he’ even before we found out so its tough not to say ‘he’ after you find out. any names yet? we still havent really sat down and thought of names, he’s stuck on Paulo or Francisco but i dont like the english versions, especially not Frank, i just think of an old man when i think of Frank…i dunno silly right? I like Michael but its been hard finding a name that sounds good with it. I gotta start looking through baby name books!

@CircleFace: We picked Collin Neal.

Officially joining team pink! I really can’t believe it, I thought all along for sure a boy as we have 3 nieces, so to add another girl to the familit is shocking! We are of course thrilled, think it may take awhile to sink in though 🙂 hope everyone is doing good.

@Max04092010: Congrats on the girl! 🙂 Hope everything is going well down at work for you! I sure as heck hope this 100 degree weather decides to take a hike soon, it is way too early to be this hot out! Don’t you just LOVE living in Nebraska? Haha
aww, that’s kind of unfortunate, but I am glad you and baby are ok and congrats on the boy! Nice to see yet another boy momma, pretty sure the sides are getting pretty even now! 🙂
haha thanks…I love Penelope too 🙂 It kinda stinks because we still have to endure an entire half of a pregnancy with people bugging us about names. I might just start telling people that we aren’t going to pick until baby is actually here, because over the weekend Mother-In-Law started bugging us about what names we are liking AGAIN! Ahh. I didn’t get anything for Mother’s Day either…although I was kind of almost hoping I would (is it in our female DNA to set ourselves up for disappointments? Haha). But I’m over it now. Just also now means that I don’t have to get DH anything for Father’s Day…phew! Not too disappointed about that. He better have something nice planned for my birthday and our anniversary, though, because I was dropping hints left and right about things I could use/wanted! Ohh men. He took me out for brunch so I guess I can’t complain too much. Hope you’re feeling better!

@clinique: Congrats on your girl! 🙂
I think you are probably the smartest one here, I would LOVE a 10-year old sibling to help with baby! Haha. Hope the party goes well 🙂
This little baby boy in my belly is sure getting good at his kicks…yesterday I even felt his bony little foot he kicked so hard and today he is kicking me pretty hard as I type this and it doesn’t quite “hurt” yet, but it is almost uncomfortable! Jeesh! And seriously it’s like less than 2 inches from my ribs now…He will probably be socking me in the ribs sooner than I would like. I keep telling DH that we are going to have the rowdiest most rambunctious little boy ever!!! I just hope he plays hard and sleeps hard, too! Haha…
I have definitely buckled down on the studying this week, so I haven’t been all baby-brain as much. On Mother’s Day of COURSE we had to go over to the in-laws and of course it was all about the Mother-In-Law still and hardly anything was said to me. Gaaahhh was I seriously weird thinking that I should get a little bit of recognition on Mother’s Day? Or is it because I am “technically” not an ACTUAL mother yet, that I have to just wait my turn until next year? Probably just the sentimental person in me and I was planning to go all-out for DH for Father’s Day, but he didn’t even get me a card and I was SUPER hinting that a maternity massage would be delightful…oh well I guess. Like I said before I have gotten over it, I just know if the cards were all reversed I would have definitely acknowledged the woman growing my son/grandson etc. My mom didn’t tell me Happy Mother’s Day when I called her, either.
Then the Mother-In-Law starts in on the “so what names have you come up with.” SERIOUSLY?! We shared our pregnancy news with you and told you to keep it quiet and you went and told the entire world, and you judge me for EVERY little thing I do, so don’t think for even a second that if there was one person who I would share our name choices with, it would be you. I tried to pawn it off as we hadn’t really talked that much more about it and THAT was almost a worse idea then just telling her we weren’t going to tell because then she started in with name suggestions (all of which I hated). Then she was asking us what type of contraption they should get for when baby is over there and has to nap/spend the night so I recommended just get a used pac and play off of Craigslist, and OH MY she didn’t like that idea…”I don’t think I would buy anything used for a baby, much less off of Craigslist.” Well excuse me!!! So then I just said well, then go and buy a brand new one, then. Uggh!!! With being so busy with school I guess we hadn’t been seeing them as much lately, I must have lost my knack for just tuning her out because she was really bothering me! Grrr. Ok. Sorry for the little rant there. I just can’t believe my husband was raised by that lady. Good thing he is nothing like her! I sincerely hope one day when our son gets married his wife doesn’t think I am a crazy lady! Hahaha. But forreal, this is going to be one tough ride with dealing with her…Must. Not. Slap. Mother in law.
Anyhow…back to studying. Sorry for the long post.. Hope everyone is doing well and I am seriously bummed about missing out on all the FB action. I will post a bump pic later because I think in the last week I have gotten ginormous (I think I think that every week haha).

@cowgirlace: Love your Mother-In-Law stories. I have some doozies myself. I’m so jealous of all your baby kicks! I keep waiting to feel them myself. I’m also sick of the baby name conversation. We have a boy name picked out but no girl name. So at dinner with my inlaws and future sister in law’s parents on Saturday night, everyone kept shooting names at me. I wanted to climb under the table. Keep up the good work studying!

Has anyone started researching breast pumps? I’m pretty sure our insurance isn’t going to cover one so I need to start looking into them and figureing out what I want/need and what we can afford.

@cowgirlace: I was also pretty disappointed about Mother’s Day as well. No card here, either. I’m sorry, but I was kneeling over the toilet for 13 weeks, I think I deserve a little recognition. 🙂
I always heard the Madela is the best…my insurance covers a beast pump but they are seriously backordered on Madela, so I am researching the other brands as well. 🙂

@PilotsGirl56: Aww! So sorry about that! I would be upset! 🙁
We decided on doing zoo for the nursery theme! So excited! Now I’ve been looking at Etsy for some cute decor!
I’m about done registering. I’m just trying to decide on what to do about a few items…they’re the same price at both stores (BBB & Target), but Target is more accessible to more people, I believe. I’m not sure if I should keep them on the BBB one for the coupon, or the Target because it’s closer for people.

@pmerr: You may want to leave them on both registries. You’ll most likely be doing some returning after the shower/birth anyway, so there’s no real harm in having stuff you want at two places.

@PilotsGirl56: Congrats on your boy!
Congrats on the girl!
Sorry to hear about your frustrating Mother-In-Law. I have one of those too. Mine announced to the facebook world that we were having a girl 10 minutes after leaving our gender reveal party when I specifically said to everyone to not post anything on facebook just yet. So I told DH that I don’t care if we 100% are confident in a name, that woman will not know about it until the baby is born. Or at least until we’re ready to announce it.
I love the zoo theme. So cute. You could always register for the item at both places and then if you notice one gets bought, delete it off the other one? I am so clueless when it comes to registries. We started ours a week or so ago and maybe added like 15 items before we just got too overwhelmed and had to call it a day. I plan to go back soon to add more. How did you decide all you needed to register for? Did you research everything or just kind of pick-as-you-go?
I went a little crazy today booking future appointments/classes. I scheduled our 3d/4d ultrasound for June 15th which I am so excited for! I’ll be 28w5d when we get it done which I hear is a good time. I’m excited to see what her little face looks like! I also scheduled an infant CPR class, a childbirth class, our hospital tour and a class on getting your dogs adjusted to the new baby. June will be a busy month for us!
I hit 24 weeks the other day and I got an email from one of the websites I subscribe to that said “Welcome to your 6th month of pregnancy!” I’ve been confused as to how to track how many months I am, so I’ve always just gone by weeks. So to see “6th month” kind of freaked me out! In a good way. I think that’s why I signed us up for everything I could. Anyone else feel like time is flying??

@BeatlesFan629: I tried to research the major things ahead of time- carseats/strollers (which we aren’t going with what I want so we can save $ :/ ), bottles (which I read it depends on the kid, so don’t register), bedding and probably a couple more things. I did wander through the store a couple times to see what brands were offered. Some things I registered for because I like the brand (oxo), and I tried to get recommendations from family/friends & weddingbee/hellobee.
