Hi September Bees,
It’s officially our year!
What’s on your to-do list this month?
Fiance and I are planning a trip to RI in March to do some in-person wedding planning. We plan to meet with our coordinator, florist, have my makeup trial, have our engagement photoshoot (same day as the makeup trial, thank goodness), our caterer for a tasting, and what I’ve been so looking forward to this whole time… CAKE TASTINGS!
So, not much to do this month besides plan the March trip.
Fiance needs to get on his passport situation for our honeymoon; planning for that is on him.

Everything that doesnt have an expirey date! We are doing alot of DIY and I’m an over achiever so I’ve made lots of appointments to meet with vendors, and sent out alot of RFQ’s so I can make those bookings solid. Also since my mom is making my dress I will be getting my but in gym and leaving it there! Brides maid dresses will be happening next month I think, I’m actually worried about them bc we are planning on buying retail not through a shop – that way everyone gets what they want and there really isnt any waiting.

We sent out save the dates this week, we don’t have much going on this month. I’m working on my wedding dress and we’re going to start DIYing our decor

We sent our save the dates, too. This will likely be a quiet month, but next month will be bridesmaid dresses if nothing else. We’re mostly keeping January a low-cost month which is nice after Christmas.

We just booked our photographer and Fiance is looking into DJ’s. We also took a look at 3 possible hotels for guests — since his entire family is from South Jersey but we’re having the ceremony and reception in North Jersey. Hoping to have the DJ booked by the end of the month!

I am taking a mental health break in jan haha maybe except for looking for Officiants and maybe figuring out what I want to do about my save the dates. So far I found my dress and matching accessories, did my makeup trial, got Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses, booked the venue, and the DJ.
Other than that, this will be a pretty busy year overall – will have to fly back to the east coast to do the food tasting, take engagement photos, hair trial, and pick out the linens and flowers. I also have a DIY ring pillow I want to make so hopefully that will be more of a fun project and I might also make my own escort cards.
Good luck fellow Sept brides!!! We got this! 🙂

Sending out save the dates and picking out bridesmaid dresses! Thats really it for the month, trying to take it easy this month. 🙂

Omg! We haven’t even decided on a venue yet. Our to do list is a little long. Get venue, pay photo deposit, do engagement photos, design Save the Dates.

Just sent save-the-dates and got the wedding website updated. I am getting super busy so I’m not doing a lot this month! Still working on the bridesmaids dresses, need to send in the contract for the officiant, and making progress on the honeymoon!
We are planning a trip to our wedding state in March as well to do engagement pictures (even though we already did some, long story) and have a floral meeting with our wedding coordinator. She said it’s too early for a tasting and hair/makeup so we will do that around July.
@jd2012: where are you going on your honeymoon??

@RunnerBride13: We’re going to Iceland!
I’m glad most of our vendors are open to having meetings with us in March. I’m in grad school, and will take classes through the summer, so we really won’t have another opportunity to take a trip focused solely on wedding planning. A couple of bakeries have scoffed at me for calling so early to book a tasting, so I’ll just call back again in February.

YAY for wedding year! I have had a whirlwind of wedding for the past week. My big accomplishment was finalizing our wedding invite list with addresses for Save the Dates. I am going to draft them this week and hopefully get them ordered in the next week or two. FI is pushing for a magnet Save the Date. 🙂 Anyone have pros or cons?
I am shopping with the BMs for dresses next week so we can get those ordered. Booked the DJ last week and started reaching out to hotels. We have a big city event (ArtPrize anyone!?) during the time of our wedding so I need to get rooms blocked now.
Fiance and I are also trying to decide on ceremony site and are close to deciding on a videographer (again, pros and cons to having one!?).
Not wedding planning related but I also hung up an engagement picutre collage of frames this weekend which I am really proud of! I’m so happy with how they turned out!
I may be floating on a wedding decision making cloud. 🙂

@purplelover13: Way to go! For Save The Dates, magnets are nice..but I figure everyone is just going to put them on the fridge anyway and people tend to have a lot of magnets. I think you could get nicer ones for less money if you don’t go the magnet route..that’s my thinking, at least! Best of luck with Bridesmaid or Best Man shopping!!

@FutureMrsVerde: That is a really good point! Thanks for the the reply! 🙂 Best of luck with your planning as well, date twin!

@purplelover13: We’re doing magnets STD. FBIL designed them and we bought a Groupon for Vistaprint.
We just had a weekend full of wedding planning before grad school kicks back into high gear and before I hopefully start a new position at work! We booked and designed our wedding cake, booked a florist, bought my ring, registered at our last store, bought wedding earrings, finalized Save-The-Date Cards, and picked out wedding shoes, although I’m not going to order until after my dress arrives so I can see whether I need ivory or white. We have wedding planning appointment with our venue coordinator on Saturday!
