Hi fellow September 2016 brides! Just curious: How far along are y’all in planning? I feel like I’m in a good place but being less than 8 months away has me getting a little anxiety about knocking to-dos off my list! It’s still fun, though. Nothing too stressful yet!
I have:
– Venue, catering, cake
– Ceremony site, officiant, pre-marriage prep done
– DJ
– Dress
– Bridesmaids dresses
– Photographer
– Charger plates
– Wedding website 90% done
– Designed and ordered all my Save the Date supplies — now just need to assemble and send!
– Engagement photos
Now only a million more things to do, right? 😉
Share your progress!

- Wedding: September 2016 - Talus Rock Retreat
My wedding day is September 3rd. So far I have:
-Venue
-Wedding Dress
-Bridesmaid dresses

-Wedding invites made, but not sent out yet (still have no idea WHEN to send them out:/)
-Cake
-Photographer
-Arch
-Booked my florist
-Engagment photos
-wedding theme decided (colors)
-Officiant and reception picked out
Think that’s everything…not having a DJ, just doing a PA system myself and making up our own playslist for the day. Still need to contact a caterer and someone to do my hair and makeup.

- Wedding: September 2016 - Sept 2016 Venice, Italy
I feel sooo behind reading your accomplishments. 🙂
DONE:
- church booked
- DP to wedding planner
- invitations being printed
- payments to photographer & videographer
- DP to seamstress for wedding gown
- groom’s suit
Still a million things left to do, but I’m not worried. I’m having a small destination wedding. Since most vendors will be from Venice, I figured I’m gonna just gonna have to live with not having control over every little detail and trust my wedding planner.

northshorebride: Ours is September 10th and we have:
– Ceremony & Reception Sites, reception site includes catering & bar
– Photographer
– Save the Dates (sent Jan 2)
– Invitations
– My dress, veil & shoes
– Groom’s suit and all groomsmen’s suits, men’s rental items lined up
– Bridesmaids know what dresses I’d prefer; shoes are up to them
– Officiant (my FSIL’s father is a deacon and knows Fiance well)
– Website done
– Marriage Prep/Pre-Cana/NFP scheduled or in progress (Catholic)
– Rings purchased
There’s still a lot left to do. We have our tasting this coming Thursday and I’ll make decisions regarding decor after that, since we’ll be at the venue. Based on the tasting, we’ll make a decision on whether to go with the in-house dessert or get an outside cake. Engagement pictures are Friday.
We still need to make a decision on ceremony music, DJ and flowers…I really just want to do my own flowers but everyone is trying to talk me out of it. And I honestly don’t care about the DJ and honestly will be fine just going with the one Future Brother-In-Law & Future Sister-In-Law used for their wedding, if he’s available.

We’re getting married on September 17! Money has been seriously tight the last month and a half, so a lot of stuff is just dependent on when we can put down deposits and order things.
Done
- Venue
- Caterer (picked, just have to put down the deposit and start making payments)
- Guest list
- Photographer (same as above)
- Officiant (my best friend got ordained to marry us)
- Rings (picked out, just have to order)
- Hotel room block (just about everyone is coming from out of state)
- Wedding dress (in our laundry room), veil (arriving tomorrow)
- Bridal party picked
- Bridesmaids are picking their own dresses, shoes, makeup, hairstyles, etc
- Cake (a coworker of mine is making it for us as a gift)
- Decor is decided on
- Wedding website is 95% done (just have to edit a few things)
- Flowers are coming from BJ’s Warehouse (similar to Sam’s Club)
Things I’ve picked out, but have to order:
- Garter (I found one I like on Etsy)
- Guest book (we’re waiting until our engagement shoot is over and will do a book from Shutterfly)
- Champagne flutes and cake server
- Bridal party gifts
- Some sort of barrette or comb
- Bubbles for exit
- My shoes (purple Converse – I physically can’t wear heels and refuse to pay for white flats I’ll never wear again)
- My jewelry (pearl necklace and earrings from Overstock.com)
- Ring pillow
- Decor for table centerpieces (fake autumn leaves, flamess candles)
- Pumpkins (for centerpieces – I can’t buy them until September, since we’re using real pumpkins)
- A few vases for bouquets during the reception so they don’t die
- Save the dates (postcards from cardsandpockets.com)
- Invitations (from Vistaprint)
- My makeup (we’re doing our own hair and makeup to save money)
- Decent hanger for my dress
- Welcome bag/bathroom basket stuff
- Favor things (we’re doing s’more bags, so graham crackers, chocolate, marshmallows, baggies, and ribbon)
- Salt ceremony (instead of a unity candle)
Still left to do…
- Engagement pictures (as soon as we officially book our photographer, we can schedule it)
- Tuxes for the guys
- Book honeymoon (we can’t until my new job starts, since I’ll be using corporate discounts to cover it)
- Alterations for my dress
- Book rehearsal dinner (trying to decide between two restaurants)
- Pay off venue, caterer, and photographer
