cyntist :  Welcome and congrats! I’m 35 so where I live, I’m referred to as ‘advanced maternal age’ So maybe slightly less horrifying than geriatric or elderly! undecided

Been stalking this board for weeks! After almost a year and a half of trying, 2 chemical pregnancies, an unexplained infertility diagnosis and 2 failed IUI’s… we’re really pregnant! It’s a miracle. We were all set up for IVF in February and while we were TTC in Dec, i wasn’t peeing on any OPKs or temping or anything. And it worked!

ROLL CALL:

How far along are you? 7w5d (8 weeks by calendar)

What is your estimated due date? September 7

What baby is this?: 1

How many cycles trying?: 18 ish?

When did you get your BFP? Took a test the day after Christmas and had a really, super, very faint positive on my amazon cheepies. I couldn’t believe it. It’s seriously a Christmas miracle! My RE confirmed with bloodwork the next day, and though my beta started low (29, which scared the crap out of me thinking it was another chemical) it doubled in 24 hrs!

Who have you told?: My family and closest friends. My girlfriends have been my rocks through this whole process and they’ve been getting pics of pee sticks for months haha. They deserved to know ASAP.

When do you plan on telling more people?: Waiting to tell DH’s family until the next time we see them, probably april. I’m not telling work until I’m at least 14 weeks. I had family that suffered late losses and i’m still completely terrified of all the “what ifs”, but trying to remember everything is great now and i just need to keep thinking positively. No social media – everyone who needs to know will.

How did you tell your partner?: Showed him the super faint positive at like, 8am the day after Christmas and he was like “ok, i see what you see but… let’s not get our hopes up.” got my bloodwork done and bought a digital on my way home, which was positive. Showed him that, and he teared up and said “welp, that’s pretty clear!”

Any symptoms yet?: nausea and a few puking incidents. my boobs feel like they were used as punching bags recently. still a little crampy but dr said everything looked great. i’m tired, but that could be more mental haha.

What are you most excited about?: getting to my 2nd tri, seeing more of the baby, having our sweet little one that we’ve waited so long for. being a mom and seeing my husband as a dad. seeing the love our family is going to smother that kid with lol. 3 of my best friends are also due within months of me, so i’ll be in really good company. i daydream about taking the baby on trips and walks with our dog, and celebrating baby’s first christmas. i couldn’t be happier and pray God keeps us healthy.

When is your first appointment?: dr. was concerned with cramps and a lower beta (675 at 4w5d or something) so i went in for an ultrasound at 5w2d, and we saw the sac! at 6w4d we saw the little heartbeat (120) and thursday i was 7w4d and heartbeat was 162 and baby was growing! i’m being released from the specialist and will see my OB on 2/9 for an intake. will hear the heartbeat by then, and maybe see some fingers and toes!

Are you planning on finding out the baby’s gender?: nope! i’ve had so much monitoring and blood work and poking and googling – we want to keep the sex a surprise.

Hello, I’ve been checking out this post for the past couple of weeks and thought I would add my name as well. Feel free to PM me with the link to the Facebook group.

ROLL CALL:

How far along are you? 10 weeks

What is your estimated due date? September 4

What baby is this?: 1

How many cycles trying?: 3

When did you get your BFP? Took a test after we got back home from visiting family over Christmas

Who have you told?: Our immediate families. Our 3 year old niece is super excited to be a cousin and has been “announcing” to everyone she meets. We should have known that 3-year-olds can’t keep secrets, but she lives in a different city so it really doesn’t matter.

When do you plan on telling more people?: We’re telling extended family after our 12 week ultrasound and then after that friends.

How did you tell your partner? I was going to wait to put together a little surprise for him, but he knew roughly when I was due to take a pregnancy test. He had assumed it was a negative and just casually asked that afternoon and I couldn’t lie. He cried  and that was probobaly enough of a surprise.

Any symptoms yet?: 10 weeks in and nothing.

What are you most excited about?: So many things, but mostly just finally being able to hold our baby. It will be nice to have labour out of the way, as I’m pretty scared for that part.

When is your first appointment?: I’ve been meeting with my family doctor and had our 8 week ultrasound. I will be meeting with our OBGYN in week 12.

Are you planning on finding out the baby’s gender? nope, looking forward to the surprise!

Ok, I think I’m ready to dip my toes in and believe in positive thinking or at least relish this as much as possible.

ROLL CALL:

How far along are you? 6+5

What is your estimated due date? September 30

What baby is this?: 1

How many cycles trying?: Since sept 2012

When did you get your BFP? 5 days after our transfer.

Who have you told?: My sister in law and her husband know.  (She had to do a vaginal ultrasound on me to check my lining when snow cancelled my flight home!  That’s a whole new level of intamacy I never imagined with her!  And her husband gave me an IV as part of my protocol too so they knew what was going on.).  And my friend at home, who is doing my IVs here since I figured I’d tell her why I needed her to help me with that.

When do you plan on telling more people?: Debating telling my mom this weekend, or maybe after the 8.5 week u/s.  Then I just plan to let people know when it’s visibly undeniable.  My girlfriends are doing a girls spa trip Memorial day weekend (22 weeks) and I want to tell them there.

How did you tell your partner? I turned to him on the drive into work and said “well, (Male REs name) is really good at getting me pregnant, it’s up to me now”.  HAHA, never thought I’d be telling my husband that another man was good at getting me pregnant.

Any symptoms yet?: Super tired and queasy all day.  Burping like a swallowed a freaking hot air ballon!

What are you most excited about?:  Seeing Darling Husband holding his baby boy.

When is your first appointment?: Had an ultrasound on Thursday.  We saw the 6.7mm fetus, and saw the little 121hb pulsing on the screen!

Are you planning on finding out the baby’s gender? Already knew since day 1 since we did PGS.  BOY!
