I think flowers in season will vary depending on your region, but that time of year could include roses, hydrangea, dahlia, zinnia, hyacinth, gerbera daisies, snapdragons, freesia, and certain kinds of lilies.

My previous wedding was in late August, and my bouquets were largely comprised of lilies (Peruvian, Asiatic, and calla).

Mine is silk, but the same look is achievable with in season September flowers.

This was my bouquet and my BM’s bouquet for last (early) September.  We did mostly roses and hydrangeas.

And here were the centerpieces in case you are interested in seeing them.  Our colors were mint green, blush, and grey.  The roses were defintely more pink than I wanted though.

Alas, no peonies I’m afraid!  This is my late-September bouquet from last year.  It’s mostly dahlias, garden roses, ranunculus, scabiosa, asparagus fern.

msbuddafly :  Thank you. I did make it myself. I actually found arranging flowers to be quite easy, once I got the hang of it!

no peonies 🙁

I’m doing Garden Roses, succulents and Ranunculus. I’m still sad about no peonies.

Orange89 :  Why don’t you have your florist include a few real touch peonies if you’re that set on them?

thelibrarylady :  Honestly I didn’t even know people used silk flowers in bouquets. It wasn’t even an option given to me by my florist! And she’s a family friend too.
