We are going to St Kitts and Nevis the week after Thanksgiving–a golf course for Fiance, and a casino for me!

Looks like we will also be opting for a mini moon.. with all the expenses of the wedding and the fact that we are paying for it ourselves.. paying to renew our passports plus the cost of a honeymoon is proving to be a bit much so we are thinking of a Road trip to Carmel Valley , CA and staying at bernardus lodge.. they have this whole two night deal that sounds Amazing..

@kventures: We’re getting married in Carmel Valley! It’s so gorgeous there, and Bernardus Lodge looks like it would be amazing for a minimoon weekend.
I just booked ours last Friday – we’ve talked about going to Greece since, like, our second date. He was a classics major and studied ancient Greek, and I went once before, but was traveling alone so couldn’t really relax and never made it off the mainland. We’ll be spending 4 nights in Crete, 4 in Santorini, and 3 in Athens. I’m so excited but also a little nervous that it will be exhausting trying to see All The Ruins.

@Entangled: Greece.. im green with envy lol jk! OH how is Carmel Valley in the month of septem? Still pretty warm?
@kventures: Aw, I know I feel really lucky we we’re able to afford to go.
Carmel Valley is fantastic in September – I checked all the historical weather data and it’s actually a little warmer in September than it is earlier in the summer. If you’re going mid-month, it’s pretty much the warmest, driest time of year. 😀

We’re also doing the minimoon thing, a short road trip and 3 nights in Monterey. I didn’t have enough vacation time from my new job to take off more than a week total, and our new house is going to be ready to move in about the same time as the wedding. We’re going to be so busy!
But I am still jealous of the amazing trips you guys have planned!

I am going to Mexico too!! We are going to Rivera Maya for 5 days and then Le Blanc after that!

Wow those all so sound so amazing! I’m a teacher so my vacation will just be ending when we get married (labor day weekend) so no immediate honeymoon for us. We are going to Chicago to run a marathon in October, but it’s only for a weekend and we’re sharing a room with my dad and sister so I don’t consider this a honeymoon!!!
At this point we’re deciding between:
-Jamaica at Spring Break (We’ve done this for the past 2 years and LOVE IT, though time for something new????)
-Costa Rica (Found this amazing unique eco-lodge…but it’s so so hard to get there on my limited one week off. We aren’t crazy about going there in the summer…we live in Canada so if I’m going somewhere hot it will be in the winter!!)
-Iceland – would be totally different !
-Europe next summer….
Can you tell we’re confused about this???!!! Help!!!

We are booked at Secrets Maroma, but we will be waiting to honeymoon until the end of October.

We’re taking a mini-moon to a city about two hours from us for the weekend we get married. Then in late February or early March we’re heading for Aspen, CO for two weeks to ski, snuggle by huge, roaring fireplaces, and eat great food. I can’t wait!
