I’m at the point where I’m stressing hardcore. We’ve put deposits on everything so far and I have bought the majority of decorations. Right now i’m DIYing my invitiations while also decorating my centerpiece vases. Only 1 of of the 5 bridesmaids has gotten there dress so far (AH!!) but I’ve gotten my dress and accessories. Now it’s just little things like bm gifts/cake topper/etc I have to worry about and paying/renting everything.

So far, so good! I’m in the process of “shopping” for invitations. All the big stuff is done, now its onto the smaller things such as invitations, linens, table numbers…I’m ready to get this show on the road! 🙂

I’m also trying to get ideas for the bridesmaid gifts and slowly buying things for people at the rehearsal dinner so that its not one big expense before the wedding.

Almost there ladies! 🙂

Well at least you guys seem to have it all together…

Right now I’m living in Maine but I’m from Boston and I’m getting married in the middle of nowhere Ohio so planning has been HARD. My fiancee is from out in Ohio and we’re both moving there once I graduate college in May. I’ve only been out there several times in the last year so I know absolutely nothing about anything out there! Trying to find a good place to find flowers was terrible- guys don’t know anything about flowers! and I don’t know anyone else out there besides my fiancee and his family.

I’m hoping that once I move out there in May after graduating college, I can actually start doing stuff!

@JMJ102411:  hey date twin!

I’m pretty much all done! All the big things done, and little things have all been decided. I don’t think I have any more decisions to make! Woop!

We’ve got our photographer, my dress and the venue booked, but thats about it so far… I am a pretty low key bride in my opinion, so I am fairly calm right now, but I’m sure that will change as the date gets closer LOL.

I plan on taking my maids out shopping for dresses very soon, and ordering invitations sometime in May. I’m just going to do bunches of flowers as centrepieces, and a cookie/brownie bar as my favours.

My wedding is 155 days away (eek!) and we’ve pretty much settled all the big ticket items. We’re waiting for the invitation designs to be finalized and still need to rent the tuxes and book the honeymoon but other than that it’s mainly the small things like choosing our readings for the ceremony and whatnot.

Can’t wait!!!

I have to pick out invitations still. I need to get our rehearsal dinner space or plans down but I’m still waiting on Fiance to talk to his mother to see if she wants to help plan it.  He’s putting it off.  I need to get our own rooms reserved for that weekend if I can pick out which hotel I want to stay at.

So I don’t have anything major (I have all my vendors) but I have a bunch of crap that I either don’t want to do or things where I can’t make a decision.

I’m not sure we are going to take a honeymoon right away now because Fiance wants to go back to school in the Fall.  Which means we’d have to wait until Dec or January to go anywhere.  Ugh!  It’s the right thing but it makes me depressed.  I’ll still take a week off of work though!

169 days for us!! I’ve gotten a lot done- venue (food and drink included), wedding coordinator, photographer + engagement pictures, music, florist + floral meeting, dress, shoes, bridesmaids dresses, grooms tux, honeymoon hotels booked, shower and bachelorette party are being planned, got my shower dress, and did hair/makeup trial!

I am trying to get invitations but having a bit of a hard time finding something I like in my price range. Where are you all looking for invitations? I don’t want to do anything DIY but I don’t want to spend over $6/invitation with RSVP and reception cards included.

Also trying to get my jewelry figured out after my mom vetoed the necklace I liked. We need to book our honeymoon flights but we’re waiting to get miles on our credit cards. I need shoes for my shower dress and something to wear for the bachelorette party. Also need to figure out the rehearsal dinner, order wedding bands, and I want to take a few dance lessons! I guess we also need to plan our ceremony and write our vows! I’m finishing my PhD and we’re moving across the country in June, so it’s a little hectic this summer!

Pretty much all the ‘big’ stuff booked in… here’s what’s left:

-BM to find her dress (something I can’t control)

-FH and groomsmen to get fitted and hire suits (something I can’t control)

-DIY my invites and place cards (the materials are in the mail as we speak 8) )

-Make a decision on key songs

-Get a dance lesson (FH only wants one, wtf??)

-Submit ‘Notice of Intention to Marry’

-write vows and design ceremony (decide who to ask to do a reading/s)

-buy my ring (I’ve found it, but FH wants to see if it will go on sale soon)

-buy the sugared almonds for the bonbonierre

-buy my wedding lingerie (a bit hard, as I have to go bra-less in my back-less dress)

-lose a few cm around my torso

-get the dress altered

-buy the cake decorations

-think about, decide on, buy and assemble reception decorations (sigh)

Then, you know, decide on what wines and menu items etc etc. Wow this list is long = and I’m sure there’s about 1235252 other things I haven’t included above.

Everything is booked and organised, I just need to take care of final payments and creating DIYs.

I’ve been folding cranes, making pom poms & addressing invitations. We paid the honeymoon off in full last week, which is awesome as it is our biggest cost!

My upcoming tasks are:

  • Start stringing cranes (we have folded 1000)
  • Fold 62 mini cranes for placecards (42 to go lol)
  • Tie invitations together
  • Re-cover guestbook
  • Confirm details for reception flowers with florist (as there has been a change)
  • Write my vows!
  • Buy lingerie for under my dress (but want to lose a few more kg first) – first fitting isn’t until August anyway
  • Finish designing the program
  • Make tulle pom poms (we have made about 6 which are hanging up in our lounge room along with the cranes… lol)

@amyinbrisbane:  what is this notice of intention to marry? Am I missing something? Oh jeez the list keeps growing! lol

Still need the tuxedos, out of town bags, invitations, transportation…most of the big things we have booked/paid the deposit. I am actually nervous about the small details “place cards etc.” more so than the big ones. I am so excited but with166 days to go I’m starting to get really anxious!

P.S. September brides…The day of the wedding who is taking care of tips & remaining deposit? Are you designating someone to handle that?

@MrsDeLovely:  Notice of Intention to Marry – that’s an Australian thing only, I think. We have to tell the government/whoever it is, that we’re going to get hitched.

On the plus side, we don’t have to worry about tips here!

@MrsDeLovely:  yep it’s an Australian thing, similar to America where you apply for a marriage licence. Ours has to been done at least one month and one day prior to the wedding date. No sooner than 18 months though. We filled ours out after we bought our first home in June so we had the right address on it. It made it feel very real 🙂
